Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has become a popular name when it comes to the MVP debate, but to Curry’s surprise his former coach isn’t part of that chorus.

ESPN analyst and former Warriors coach Mark Jackson said Wednesday on the “Dan Patrick Show” that while Curry, Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder and LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, are all worthy candidates, he’d give his MVP vote to James Harden of the Houston Rockets.

Three students were wounded in a shooting on Florida State University's campus in Tallahassee, police said, and the suspected gunman was shot and killed by officers.

The shooting happened early this morning at the university's Stozier Library, which was packed at the time with hundreds of students studying for exams.

Alabama, which handed Mississippi State its first loss on Saturday, moved from No. 5 to No. 1 in the College Football Playoff Top 25 released Tuesday night.

Yet Mississippi State also stayed firm in the Playoff race, falling only to No. 4. The Bulldogs are one of three one-loss teams in the top four, joining No. 2 Oregon and No. 3 Florida State.

Last week’s top four was Mississippi State at No. 1, Oregon at No. 2, Florida State at No. 3 and TCU at No. 4.

Former Louisville guard Kevin Ware will transfer to Georgia State, a source told The (Louisville) Courier-Journal on Saturday morning.

His mother, Lisa Junior, confirmed her son’s decision.

“(We’re) still on our visit here at Georgia State,” Junior told The Courier-Journal. “Kevin has committed.”

President Obama’s State of the Union Address drew 33.3 million television viewers, the smallest audience he has had for the annual speech to Congress, Nielsen reported Wednesday.

The audience for Tuesday’s speech was slightly less than the 33.5 million who tuned into last year’s State of the Union, according to numbers supplied by Nielsen.

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is close to a month away from playing for the national title, but he already has a prestigious trophy.

At 19 years and 342 days old, Winston became the youngest Heisman Trophy winner when he was named college football's most outstanding player Saturday night in New York.
He is the second straight freshman to win the Heisman after Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel last season.
