O.J. Simpson said that he agreed with President Trump’s condemnation of NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem, according to an interview with Buffalo News. “I think Colin made a mistake,” Simpson said. “I really appreciate what he was trying to say. I thought he made a bad choice in attacking the flag…The flag shouldn’t be disrespected because of what cops do. The flag represents what we want America to be.” He also expressed concerns that he suffered from CTE, a degenerative bra

Richard Sherman has dominated headlines over the past few days, and just yesterday, the former Seahawks star cut short what might have been a lengthy free agency tour by signing a three-year pact with the 49ers.

Earlier today, we learned that the Patriots did not reach out to Sherman before he agreed to sign with San Francisco, though New England was a team that Sherman indicated he would be interested in joinin

Johnny Manziel just wants a shot to play in the NFL again, regardless of how much he’d be paid.

“I’ll play again for FREE,” Manziel tweeted Wednesday. “It’s not about the money it’s about getting back to doing what I miss and love.”

He can’t literally play for free, of course, but NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported earlier Wednesday that Manziel is willing to sign a contract with no guaranteed salary.

“Teams have been informed that Manziel will take zero dollars guaranteed, minimum salary,

Every Super Bowl stumble comes with a heartache that lasts deep into the offseason. Success hasn't made the New England Patriots immune to that darkness. A long, cold winter awaits now after a crushing 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII on Sunday.

In many ways it'll feel the same as the Patriots' two other Super Bowl losses since 2001, when their dominance began. And in one significant way it won't because there's another feeling settling over the Patriots.

That feeling is

Eagles hold off Patriots in epic game to win 1st Super Bowl in franchise history

The Eagles held off a dramatic second-half comeback from the New England Patriots to win 41-33, earning their first Super Bowl title in franchise history and handing Tom Brady and Bill Belichick their third defeat on the biggest stage.

In a game stocked full of dramatic - and controversial - moments, Nick Foles and Brady went blow for blow as the two teams produced the m

The 52nd Super Bowl is only a day away and you have questions: What's the deal with the Eagles and those dog masks? Where did the Patriots and Eagles rank in DVOA this season? What would a Lombardi Trophy mean for each of these teams? Before we get to the answers, a recap of how we got here.

There are no Super Bowl championships to celebrate in the Eagles' history. Their sta

A dance party broke out on the sideline.

Eagles players bobbed up and down to the beat of a Meek Mill rap, waving white towels and clutching their helmets, pumping their fists in the air. This scene – just 42 days after star quarterback Carson Wentz tore his anterior cruciate ligament in a Week 14 game – seemed improbable.

Yet here it was. The NFC Championship Game still had 14 minutes and 10 seconds left, but in reality, it was over.

With 10 seconds remaining in the game and the Vikings trailing the Saints by one with the ball at the Minnesota 39, the Vikings needed a miracle.

It’s safe to assume that in this time of desperation, some Minnesota fans prayed for the home team to find a way to escape defeat. Whether it was God, a great play call, an unfortunate error by Saints safety Marcus Williams or some combination of all three, the miracle was delivered and the Vikings won the game on a 61-yard walk-off touchdown pass fr

While the Patriots are in their NFL-record seventh straight conference championship, the Jaguars, Eagles and Vikings are appearing in conference title games for the first time in years.

The Jaguars have made only two previous AFC championship appearances — in 1996 and 1999. They lost both, but this year's group is confident it can pull off another upset following last weekend's surprise 45-42 divisional win at P

The NFL said Thursday it will investigate whether the Oakland Raiders violated the “Rooney Rule” when they hired Jon Gruden as coach.

The Fritz Pollard Alliance called for the investigation on Wednesday out of concern that Raiders owner Mark Davis came to an agreement with Gruden before the team interviewed any minority candidates as required by the NFL since 2003.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement that the NFL will “look into this.”

The Fritz Pollard Alliance is dedicated to pro

Depends on how you look at it. In terms of length, while college coaches such as Charlie Weis and Kirk Ferentz have signed 10-year contracts in years past, there's not really a precedent for this sort of deal in the NFL. Coaching contracts aren't public record, but the longest deal I'm aware of is the six-year contract Kyle Shanahan signed to work alongside John Lynch in San Francisco last year.

The Raiders could be stuck absorbing an enormous bill if the contract is fully guaranteed and Gruden

Blake Bortles never had a game like this.

Not in college. Not in high school. Not in peewee football. Not even in the backyard against family and friends.

Bortles put together one decent drive all day, doing as much with his legs as his arm, and the defensive-minded Jacksonville Jaguars eked out an ugly and sometimes unwatchable 10-3 victory against the Buffalo Bills in an AFC wild-card game Sunday.

Bortles became the second starting quarterback in the past 25 years to win a playoff game with

LaVar Ball watched the Los Angeles Lakers' 108-94 Friday night loss to the Charlotte Hornets from Lithuania, but that didn't stop him from criticizing the team's coach.

"You can see they're not playing for Luke [Walton] no more," Ball said, per Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com. "Luke doesn't have control of the team no more. They don't want to play for him."

It was Lonzo Ball's first game back since Dec. 23 because of a sho

Jon Gruden is back in the NFL.

Steve Corkran of Raiders Snake Pit reported that Gruden will be the team's next head coach, taking over for the recently fired Jack Del Rio, and that the announcement would be made at a press conference on Tuesday. It will be Gruden's second tenure as head coach of the Raiders.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Gruden is signing a 10-year, $100 million deal, the biggest in NFL history for a head coach.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Gruden already has Rams

Hue Jackson apologized. There was nothing else to do after making unwelcome history.

One day after an inconceivable season ended without a win, Cleveland’s coach was grateful to still have his job and Jackson took steps to sooth an angry fan base and players who may have doubts about him.

Jackson somehow survived the Browns’ 0-16 season, but it will leave scars.

“This is going to be next to my name for the rest of my life,” he said Monday. “This is part of my legacy now, some of the players tha

Jim Caldwell, who led Detroit to winning seasons in three of his four years at the helm, was fired Monday after the Lions missed the playoffs for the second time in the past three seasons.
The decision comes despite the fact that Caldwell, 62, had winning seasons in three of his four years in Detroit. But the Lions missed the playoffs twice in the past three years, including this season, when they went 9-7.
