The mood in Ferguson, Missouri, is tense, after a grand jury decided against indicting a police officer for the killing of unarmed African-American teenager Michael Brown. The tension ought to remind us, as the church, that we are living in a time in which racial division is hardly behind us. That reality ought to motivate us as citizens to work for justice, but also as the church to seek to embody the kingdom of Christ.

As the nation waits to hear whether a Missouri police officer will face charges for killing unarmed teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., the FBI is warning law enforcement agencies across the country that the decision “will likely” lead some extremist protesters to threaten and even attack police officers or federal agents.

CNN is reporting that audio from Officer Darren Wilson’s encounter with Michael Brown has been released, and it reportedly reveals that 11 shots were fired instead of the previously reported 6.

CNN reportedly obtained the audio from the FBI which obtained it from the Ferguson Police Department. It has been noted, however, that the audio recording itself cannot prove who fired the shots or whom they were fired toward.
