Bad news out of the Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles brand today, as the iconic Los Angeles restaurant empire loses a racial discrimination lawsuit that should set them back more than $1 million.
The suit was first brought by former employee Daniel Beasley, says CBS Los Angeles, who worked for a time at the Pico Boulevard location of Roscoe’s. While there, Beasley, a black man, says he was the recipient of various forms of racial discrimination at the hands of all-Hispanic management. Tho
Long Beach Indie to Highlight Positive Young Black Men
In the midst of the furor over the death of Michael Brown and the continuing legacy of the Trayvon Martin killing, the Long Beach Indie International Film Festival is featuring a suite of films highlighting positive images of young African American men. Taking place August 27-31, 2014 at the Cinemark at the Pike Theaters in Long Beach, California, the festival screens more than 90 diverse films from across the globe.
