How To Stop Mass Shootings

by Robert Driskell

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10).

The only way to stop mass shootings, or any other crime, is for humans to have a change of heart. As long as there are people who persist in rebellion against our Creator, crimes (and criminal behavior) will continue. Murder, rape, assault, theft, adultery, etc. will not only continue but will increase as society worsens and begins to look upon many of these sins as 'normal'.

Serving God's Way

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use it well to serve one another. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ.. (I Peter 4: 10-11 NLT).

There is a definite order of service delineated in this portion of scripture. It's God, then others and self. Unfortunately, we sometimes invert that order to ourselves, people, and then the Lord. In this hierarchy of service, due to our tendency to look out for number one, it is v

The Anti-King: David and Humility

I first noticed how humble David's attitude is when reading 2 Samuel 22, David's song of praise. Repeatedly, God is attributed with victory, well over and above anything David claims for himself (of which I have found next to nothing). "The Lord is..." "He is..." He heard..." He opened..." "He shot..." "His lightning..."

David is almost an anti-king. His character is a complete contrast of that of any other monarch in history. He relies more on the Lord, than on his own po

God's timing may not always be our timing even in things like when He wants to heal us. We may say not now I am too busy praising You, or I am too busy serving You. When you are reading His words He may what you to pause right there and let His Spirit nourish you. If we don't let Him have His way we may never have that chance ever again. I remember reading about this man who was a healer of God and he said there were many times he would go over to somebodies home, because he had

I love reading peoples testimonies, especially how they survive their toughest times, because while we are here on this earth, we can guarantee we will have plenty of them. Where hatred is growing at an insane rate, we need survival skills in the Lord. Our life should not be the most important thing to us. Getting to heaven where our real home is, is far more exciting and something to really look forward to with so much joy. If that is not true for you, then you need to ask God

I love the positive feedback I receive through the King David Project. Hearing how David has blessed other people's lives, blesses me! One comment which comes up quite often is "I wish I was like David!" I understand, as I feel that way too.

David was one of the few people in the Old Testament to be filled with the Spirit of the Lord, so we are actually able to be like David, in all matters of faith. It's good news and I reply to people with: "you can do it; it will take ti

Many of us try to be spiritually perfect. We balance work, family, finances, church, friends, Bible study, praise and worship and prayer like an overloaded waitress, with an armful of precariously tipping plates. It's often too much. We ultimately hit the floor, exhausted and moaning.

But that is not acceptable.

In church we sing about being overcomers, being able to do all things in God. ALL of them. It's true. We can. The Word of God is very clear that when we focus on the

New Creation Living

by Joseph LaValley

What's ailing you? "New creation" living is God's answer to what's ailing you, me and anyone else. You may be thinking, "What in the world is he talking about?" I'm declaring God's answer, which He revealed to Paul, so we know that we're on firm ground.

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

The word "creature" in this verse means creation. In the Greek text, the word "new" is

  Despite the clear evidence against Evolution, it dominates the classroom and society and has had a devastating effect on belief in the Bible. For many, faith in Evolution replaces the need for faith in God and this suits their itching ears as they feel free to make their own rules. Because there is no God, so they believe, they are not accountable to anyone so they can choose their own right and wrong. The following are just a few examples that debunk Evolution.

AN EXAMPLE OF TRUE DISCIPLESHIP

maxresdefault.jpg

Most people in the world are fascinated and enthralled when they come face to face with true examples of excellence in any field of endeavour. In sport we think of the Michael Jordans, the Muhammad Alis and the Peles just to name a few. If your interest is in the field of fine painting you will no doubt call to mind the Rembrandts, the Goyas, the Picassos and the many others. If perchance you are into classical music then such names as Bart, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky a

Those of us who are familiar with the Bible's Old Testament would know that it is filled with many examples of great men and women worthy of our respect, admiration and study. There were people of outstanding ability, faith, integrity and commitment to God and who have left behind a legacy for all time.
For example we have men such as:
1. Abraham, living in an idolatrous household (his father Terah made idols for a living) but with his desire to obey God he launched out i

Living Without Fear

When God gave Israel the law on Mount Sinai, the occasion bristled with utter menace; to the extent that not just the people, but even the venerable Moses, was terrified. The Bible, as ever true in all its reportage, puts it like this: “And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake.” (Hebrews 12:21)

The most devout, spirit-filled believer will experience periodic fear; and that is to be expected. You would be inhuman if your child, or

This concept has to do with the doctrine of the Trinity; three persons, co-eternal, separate and equal forming the Godhead; consisting of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

The word "Trinity" is not mentioned in the Bible. We believe it was created sometime around 180 AD by Theophilus of Antioch, and for this reason it is not accepted by many.

However the word "Trinity" is just a word trying to explain a Biblical concept which many find hard to gra

  Interesting facts often lie in the out of the way places that you don't often visit. Here are my 5 favourite facts about David, that I didn't have a clue existed.

1. His mother was a role model for his spiritual walk.
There are two Psalms which refer to her:
~ "Truly I am your servant, Lord;
I serve you just as my mother did;
you have freed me from my chains." Psalm 116:16

~ "Turn to me and have mercy on me;
show your strength in behalf of your servant;
save me, because I serve yo

Ask for Wisdom and Understanding

I have an addiction for knowledge all my life. I know all children will go through a period of asking why? And it can get ignoring. Some children ask why more than others and I was one of those that just kept asking why! Why! Why! All the time. Even seeking knowledge about God can become a god. You have to watch and know what your true intentions are behind everything we do. Sometimes we think we are doing things for the right reason only for God to reveal to us that we are not a

What Is The Meaning of Living Water

Inspired living means being nourished by the living water, the Lord provides. In John 4:10, Jesus introduced this subject to the woman at the well. "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

This is the reference to living water most of us remember. In Scripture, however, there is much about water. One cannot exist without water; it sustains life. Water has special significance.

Are You The Apple Of God's Eye?

gospel-graffiti-eden-wall.jpg

Can you imagine someone touching the pupil of your eye or the pupil of God's eye? Your eye is dear to you and so is the pupil (apple) of your eye. Likewise, the apple of God's eye is dear to Him. This post gives a description of what it means to be the apple of the Lord's eyes.

"He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, s

Do you wish to change the happenings around you? Can you make a lasting impact in this world? The answer is yes! You can set the pace that others will follow with time. But it all starts with the renewing of your mind. This article emphasizes the power of changing your mind to change your world.

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2 NKJV)
