Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough sure is going to miss the Georgia Dome.

Four weeks after his two-touchdown performance here in a win over Florida in the Southeastern Conference championship game, Scarbrough and the No. 1 Crimson Tide returned to the soon-to-be demolished dome on Saturday and defeated No. 4 Washington, 24-7, in the Peach Bowl, one of the College Football Playoff semifinals.

With the win, Alabama (14-0) advanced to the national title game on Jan. 9 in Tampa, Fla., where it

When last year’s national championship game ended, Ben Boulware, Clemson’s vicious linebacker, sat in the locker room and sobbed.

“Cried like a baby,” Boulware said. “And it still hurts.”

On Saturday, Boulware and his team marched from that same locker room at University of Phoenix Stadium, took the field against a favored Ohio State team, and won a shot at redemption.

For four quarters of the College Football Playoff semifinal at the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, Clemson annihilated the Buckeyes

Do you remember how fun and exciting last year’s College Football Playoff National Championship was to watch?

Alabama and Clemson spent 60 minutes trading hits, big plays and the lead. The fourth quarter alone featured 40 points and five touchdowns, and when the dust settled, it was Alabama claiming another national title with a 45-40 win.

Well, here’s to hoping the sequel is as good as the original, because we’re getting a rematch.

Following Alabama’s 24-7 win over Washington in the Peach Bo

Jameis Winston raised one more red flag Thursday for NFL personnel executives to consider after his third-quarter meltdown and heated sideline exchange with Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher while the Seminoles were being routed 59-20 by Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

Might Winston be the 2015 NFL draft’s Johnny Manziel, another former Heisman Trophy winner free falling from the top of the first round to the bottom of it?

“I don’t think it’s good. But sometimes in the hea

College football is finally done with Jameis Winston.

The previously untouchable and extremely controversial Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback saved his worst mistakes for his first college loss in what is likely his last college game.

Unless Winston somehow decides to return to Florida State for his junior year, his career — stellar on the field, infamous and even criminal off it — has ended in ignominy, with a humiliating 59-20 loss to Oregon in the Ros

President Barack Obama’s opening lines dared to target a player whom offenses often stay away from.

But this was his house — the White House, to be exact — and Obama was ready to have a little fun at Richard Sherman’s expense.
