From a young age, women are (unfortunately) taught to judge each other based on appearance. Starting in elementary school, social status is often determined by physical beauty and cliques are formed accordingly.
While men are also divided into different social strata based on their attributes, the criteria for determining who’s cool and who isn’t has far less to do with looks for them, and much more to do with intelligence, ability and teamwork.

Taraji P. Henson urged viewers at Sunday night’s BET Awards to take the prospect of a Donald Trump presidency seriously.
Accepting the award for Best Actress, the Empire star said, “I’m really not political, but it’s serious out here.” She then referenced Trump, though not by name: “For those who think he’s not going to win, think again. We really need to pull together and turn this country around.”

Commenting on the speech given by Jesse Williams at the 2016 BET Awards, the right wing pundit wrote, “You’ve just seen the perfect example of a HOLLYWOOD plantation slave!”
“Sorry, Mr. Williams. But the fact that you were standing onstage at THOSE awards tells people you really don’t know what you’re talking about. Just spewing hate and anger,” she continued on her Patheos Blog.

One lesson you should learn about Mase – NEVER ask him about preaching while at a music-based event! Konan of 92Q Jams in Baltimore learned that the hard way when he opened up his interview at the BET Awards Radio Broadcast Center with “so the people want to know, are you preaching or are you rapping?” It all went south from there.
Mase went on a rant for several minutes. Unfortunately the audio is not the greatest quality but you can make out a few strong statements:

The 2014 gospel nominations have been announced for the annual BET Awards, and with such a great year for gospel music, choosing a winner will be a tough call.
Whoever walks away with the statue, it will be a collective victory for the genre in light of reports that BET has chosen to axe its annual “Celebration of Gospel,” further limiting the exposure of the niche genre.

Last night, the BET Awards put what the world loves on center stage. In the midst of all the mess, Savannah's own Mali Music performed as a part of BET's Music Matters showcase.
