I was heavily influenced by East Coast sound and Japhia Life was a great addition to my listening library. Within mere moments of the “Preface” intro, he had my attention from his accent alone. As we get to “Precious Memories,” Japhia embodies the concept of the project and creates a visual anthem for anyone who thought back to their childhood. This song is a true definition of what nostalgia should invoke on your brain and body. “Let no one Die” is a unique track. The happy, yet smooth 80s heavy production takes your mind off the fact that the track is very dark. It speaks on uplifting fellow brothers and sisters. He ends the album with “Paradise,” pleading for everyone to simply believe in order to see and know the place that Japhia has been trying to bring us to throughout the project.

Overall, this is a classic project in CHH. It reminds you of the great projects that were brought to us from the East Coast past like Illmatic, Doe or Die and various Wu Tang members debut solo albums. It’s pretty sad that Japhia Life isn’t mentioned in more top artist lists and that this project isn’t mentioned as well. Make sure you check this album out. It’s a great addition to the pages of your life. Spread The Soup!
