A lot of people die out of anxiety related issues. People have worried themselves to death over things that are not worth dying for. Life is definitely not easy but it is also not as difficult as we paint it to be. Why? Because we have an advantage and that advantage is named JESUS CHRIST. In evotional, we will talk on the topic “God is already working out what you are worried about.”
There’s a popular song by Kirk Franklin that goes:
You don't have to worry
And don't you be afraid
Joy comes in the morning
Troubles they don't last always
For there's a friend named Jesus
Who will wipe your tears away
And if your heart is broken
Just lift your hands and say
I know that I can make it
I know that I can stand
No matter what may come my way
My life is in your hands.
• These words are what most of us need to be saying right now. So many people are worried about their health and half of these worriers aren’t even sick. Most people are worried about their finances, family and relationships. All most people do these days is worry, worry, worry. Even when people claim they trust in God, they pair this trust with worry which yields no result at all.
• There’s no problem if you are a little concerned about something new you’re about to try out but don’t let it linger too long to cause problems. Worry is a serious problem because it has the ability of ruining things. Worry can ruin our relationship with God and the good work God wants to do in our life. Worry is like telling God, “don’t stress, I will stress myself” Worry is a very big problem not just in our walk with God, but even to us personally. Worry is one of the leading cause of so many diseases present in the world today. Worry can cause high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke and much more damage to the body system. Worry has made people doubt themselves. It has made them miss many opportunities at great relationships, great jobs or businesses. Worry is a killer. It has no positive fruit.
• Let’s see what Jesus says about worrying in Matthew 6 vs 25 – 34. He says ‘“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’
• Isn’t the passage so comforting? God says He knows what you need so why are you bothered? God created you to have the needs you have now so He will provide them for sure. If He couldn’t provide it, He won’t create you like that. In Genesis 3 vs 7 after Adam and Eve sinned, they decided to help themselves by making clothes. It says “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” They must have really done a weak job because in Genesis 3 vs 21, we see God give them something better. It says “The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.” Don’t forget these people just sinned yet God still clothed them. How much more you who has been purchased by the blood of Jesus?
