Daily Devotional: WHEN YOU SEE THESE SIGNS | A BREAKTHROUGH IS COMING

Through signs we can determine many things. For example, if the clouds are gathering and become darkened, we know that rain might fall. Signs are indications that things will happen. In today’s devotional, we will talk on the topic “Signs your breakthrough is near”.


Everyone wants breakthroughs. Humans are wired to always want more than we have. And this isn’t a bad thing because Jesus Christ has made provision for us. It is the will of God for us to be blessed. If you look through the Bible, the children of God do not suffer. There will always be provision for everyone who believes that Christ will provide. A lot of people sit around and say things like “if it’s God’s will for me to have this breakthrough I will”. This statement looks very spiritual but it is in fact not consistent with the Word of God.

James 1:17 says “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

Are breakthroughs good and perfect? Yes, they are. So why won’t you have them?

2 Corinthians 9:8 also says “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

These are just two out of the wealth of scriptures that show the God is interested in us having breakthroughs. Not just in wealth but in every aspect of life. These verses are used because people mostly look for financial breakthroughs. But we should know that in Christ, everything we desire is available for us. We just need to ask God.

Ephesians 3:20 says “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us”.

Even more than we can imagine, did you hear that? So God is able to give you everything that you’re asking for. You just need to ask.

James 4:2 -3 says in paraphrase “You don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And when you ask, you don’t receive because you don’t ask according to His will”.

So it is important to ask God and ask according to His will. And we have seen from scriptures that God wants us to have breakthroughs. And if you have the right motives for wanting these breakthroughs, God will give it to you.
So if you have prayed and asked God for a breakthrough, what are the signs that you will receive?


1) It seems like you have unending challenges. This is often a clear sign that shows that your breakthrough is coming. Do you feel like you’re fighting like hundred people’s battle? Be comforted, it’s usually a sign that something great is coming your way. These challenges can be from God, to make sure you’re well prepared to handle the breakthrough He wants to give you so you don’t lose it. It can also be from the devil. The devil knows when God is about to do something in your life so he begins to attack you, everyone just seems to suddenly hate you. You just fall sick; you lose your job. Unexplainable attacks from nowhere. You didn’t do anything wrong. The devil is doing this so you can get discouraged and not receive the breakthrough God has in store for you.


2) God takes away harmful people and things from your life. Again, God will prepare you to receive from Him what you asked of Him. God can take you out of a toxic place, can be your work environment or even your home. God can take you out of toxic relationships because these things are hindrances to the blessings He has in store for you. When God was about to bless Zechariah and Elisabeth with the baby John the Baptist, God took away Zechariah’s ability to speak so He will not ruin the blessing God had in store for Him. This thing God does is really an act of His mercy. So we shouldn’t cry or get mad at God for doing these things. They’re necessary for our breakthrough.

3) You are eager to spend time with God. This is another clear sign that breakthroughs are coming your way. When you have an unusual desire to pray and study God’s Word, when you have an unusual desire to just be in the presence of God, it is usually a sign that your breakthrough is coming. This happens because the more time you spend praying, worshiping and studying God’s Word, the more likely you are to accept what God is about to give you. It is in this stage where you’re most sensitive to God that you receive divine instructions that will birth your breakthroughs. Also the more time you spend with God, the easier it is for you to withstand the enemy and his evil plans for you.
