These are the words of Martin Luther King Jr. We live in a world where oftentimes the first response to violence is, in fact violence. This is problematic, to say the least, as it only serves to escalate to a point of no return, but this is not the way of jesus
Now we know that Jesus was both The Lamb of God and The Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and there is no weakness in him. So perhaps his definition of peace is different from many Jesus modeled, a peace that was not a form of weakness but of strength given from heaven Dr. King's life also modeled. This reality. God's strength was made perfect in Dr. King's mortal weakness in John 14:27. Jesus reveals that there are two kinds of peace, one from the world which is based purely on an external moment of tranquility and the other, which is completely based upon the indwelling of ``, the prince of peace'' in your heart.
In other words, what's going on on the outside of, you should not determine the peace that lives on the inside of you. In fact, let's take it a step further when you allow jesus to truly reign in your heart as your source of peace. The contrast of the chaos on the outside and your rest and tranquility on the inside is even greater. This is the life modeled by one of history's greatest leaders: Martin Luther King Jr,
And on this day, we honor his life and legacy a life of humility, a life of strength, a life of peace, not the peace of the world, but a peace given from heaven and modeled to such a degree that it not only changed legislation in our nation. But set a standard of what justice should look like worldwide this model. This prototype was the example given to him from the generator and the true source of peace, Jesus Christ, Lord Savior, and the Prince of Peace.
