Daily Devotional: God Put You In A Difficult Situations To Grow You!

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, but when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. - James 1:12

Some people say life is hard. I think it's better to say that life can be hard or better still, life is made up of difficulties and challenges. In the words of C.S. lewis hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.

Now the biggest problem people have is that they hope for a life without problems, and this, my dear friend, is an impossible goal and would lead to a boring life without character. We will all have problems small or large. Now the difference is how we deal with the problems and the challenges that occur. Now, God fits the trial to the person in the sense that god makes everybody's difficult situation to be unique to them, because our destinies and our journeys are peculiar and different. Now, god does this so that what happens to me cannot be compared to what happens to you.

Our struggles are not the same, because we have a wise, heavenly father who fits the trial to the person now. One thing that causes us to despair when we are going through trials and tribulations is misconceptions: spiritual misconceptions that we have about challenges and difficult phases of life, they're misconceptions and they cause us to ask the question lord. Why are you doing this to me now? What are some of these misconceptions? There are many, but let's look at some of them.

The first is this: if you're a child of God, you will never go through difficult situations, so, in other words, if you're spiritual, you'll never get into a fizzy you'll, never shed a tear. You'll never buckle under pressure. Listen they're trying to tell you that in life you will always have success now I want to blow this out of the water, because this is absolute nonsense. Yeah. This is absolute nonsense.

Okay for the greatest men in the bible, they were the men that at times were in great challenging situations. They were in great distress, they were in great tribulation and some of them were a great depression. So when hard times come, it's easy to blame god for our problems. However, the truth is that the hard times are there to make us grow. I hope you don't think that, because you're going through trouble that in some way, god is punishing you, it is possible that that is not the case now.

Did you realize that God wants you to grow up? God wants you to fit the next level and the way through which he wants you to achieve. That is by putting you through difficult situations. Now, when we face challenges in life, it can either paralyze us with fear or cause us to seek God and to see him work in our lives, and the challenge is about building you. If you're never challenged, you will never change, and this is because you will never grow and growth.

My dear friend brings about change. When God challenges you it's mainly to grow you. Sometimes it takes a crisis for you to see your capability. King David was arguably one of the greatest men of God to ever walk on this earth, but what we can easily forget is how many challenges King david, faced before coming king and during his reign as king, remember, Saul, the king prior to david envied david, and He tried to kill him numerous times. Now, 1 Samuel 19 verses 10 to 11. It tells us Saul tried to pin him to the wall with a spear, but David eluded him an assault drove the spear through the wall.

That night, David made good his escape. Saul, sent men to David's house to watch it and to kill him in the morning, but micah, David's, wife warned him if you don't run for your dear life tonight, tomorrow you'll be killed. However, in whatever way or time, your difficult season or situation may occur, accepting the challenge and facing it head-on allows you to grow and to find strength that you never knew before. Another misconception that people have is that life should always be a bed of roses. Now it's nice when it's a bed of roses, if it ever, is for you, but it's not always a bed of roses, so take up your cross and follow christ. I mean that analogy does not fit with a bed of roses does it?

Following Jesus does not mean that your life will be free from challenges and problems; rather, it means that you have the Lord almighty with you in your challenges. You have the Lord almighty, who you can lean on trust and ask for help and who will provide for you and comfort you during it all now, even the people in the world, that's what they expect out of life. They expect a bed of roses because they have believed the hollywood fairy tale that everything ought to be money. Success, career education, talent, comfort, good looks, but in reality life is not like that.

So then we come to this question. Is there a plan? Is there a purpose in suffering? Listen, you wouldn't be human. If you did not ask why there is usually not always a specific answer to that question, i cannot give you a specific answer, but what i can do from the word of god today is to give you a general answer, and this general answer is that all Things work together for your good.

Sometimes we do not know whom we have in us until we have to go through something that is bigger than us. Challenges are growth opportunities and, if you let them they'll push you towards your purpose, they teach you how strong you are and where there is room for growth. A challenging life is just an opportunity to uncover and discover yourself so find your strengths in these moments, so that you may use them to find your true purpose. Challenges and problems are important parts of life and they give you experiences. They make you learn and they help you become wiser and stronger.

Now, problems make us grow and they shape us. So when you face challenges in your life, you have the same opportunity presented to you that king david had is either you let the challenges paralyze you with fear and dread, or you can seek God lean on him, for dependence, ask for his help and wisdom and work towards an outcome. If you choose the latter, it will lead to personal growth and, seeing the Lord work in your life now remember, your capacity will never increase in your comfort zone, so do not run away from the problems and challenges that you're facing in life do not ignore them or try to hide from them face them deal with them. The greatest growth in life and the most important lessons you will ever learn will come when you face and deal with a serious challenge.

So I pray that your challenges will not overwhelm you or that you will see them as an opportunity to see god working in your life. So, no matter what the provision or the breakthrough looks like on this side of eternity, you will grow closer with him through it all and you will come out better than you went in. Thank you for listening and god bless you.
