God is always working behind the scenes. God can be described as a movie director. You can never see in a real movie, but his presence is always felt. It is the movie director that brings a movie to life. Imagine watching a movie where you see the director keep shouting cut, repeat action. You will immediately get tired of the film. This is why they work behind the scenes, and this is how God works. Unlike a movie director, God doesn't come before us and Lord his desires over us. He can suggest to us if we care enough to listen, but that's it, God always respects our will, so he usually stays in the back seat until we invite him over. He also never reveals the full picture to you in the same way. A movie director doesn't show you exactly how the movie will be. Your part will be described to you and you have the option of following the plan of the director and scriptwriter. You can be told about the movie generally, but you will see it fully unfold as you keep acting the movie. What the director is concerned about is for you to play your part in the movie.
He doesn't want you to leave your part and start directing the film he wants you to concentrate on your part. The director will not call you to order over someone else's role, but yours. You must be willing to do the right thing. This is the same with God as when the time is right. He will reveal his perfect work. God doesn't do anything without reason, so he has a reason why he works behind the scenes number one. So we can trust him and reduce self-reliance. The major reason why, God does all these acts behind the scenes is so that we can trust him. If God reveals every bit and detail of our life, we will not need him anymore. Of course, God isn't needy. He isn't so desperate that he withholds information from us, so we can always ask for his guidance. Instead, we are the ones who need him. We need his guidance and direction. We cannot function without his help, even though God shows us the picture of what we are supposed to be. We will still miss it. King David was anointed to be king.
He was sure about his destiny, yet he made so many mistakes, if not for the mercy of God. David would have failed. Psalm, 119. Verse 105 says your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
