God’s Word is clear that He will never leave us. He has made this promise, however, like with all of the Lord’s Covenants, He has a part and we have a part; ours is to keep His Commandments:
“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”(Hebrews 13:5)
God doesn’t leave us; we leave HIM!
“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.” (Hebrews 4:4-6)
This explains something else. When we experience spiritual voids; moments when we can't sense the Lord's Presence, it's not because He isn't there, it's because we haven't been paying attention to Him; we aren't there. It's us who leave HIM, while He keeps His end of the bargain; waiting and watching for His children to come back home. God is longsuffering, but He doesn't wait forever.....
This is especially poignant in these Last Days, as the church itself has been straying from the sound doctrine that was previously, readily understood and followed! “they will turn their ears away from the truth” and “unless the falling away comes first.” These Scriptures are describing the End Days’ church that we now see, as MOST churches are falling under Satan’s spell and actually believing that anything goes and our sins are no problem! This is actually being taught and many with women and pseudo women preachers, which is also forbidden in God’s Economy, as the church elders are being pressured from their higher ups to go along with this for the purpose of not offending anyone or losing their members, and their financial backing.
2Timothy 4:2-4
“Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” (2Timothy 4:2-4)
AND
2Thessalonians 2:1-4—
“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of b]">[sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”
These verses also help to clear up any misconceptions regarding the manmade doctrine of Once Saved Always Saved, as clearly those ‘believers’ that turn away from God could not have done so if they had been truly saved. Therefore, those who find themselves in this condition were never saved in the first place, but certainly could be if they do not wait until it's too late and accept the God’s Sovereignty, and allow themselves to become rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus.
