Daily Devotional For Motivation: No Fear--God is For Us!

by Tonja Taylor

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.—2 Tim. 1:7, AMPC

What are you afraid of?

What am I afraid of?

God is for us and none can be against us!

31 What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]--Romans 8:31, AMPC

Once we are adopted by our faith (which God gives us!) in the shed Blood of Jesus Christ on the cross (God gave us Jesus, and helped Him to be obedient, even to death on the cross!), we become sons and daughters of God, adopted into His Royal Family, forever (unless we choose to repeatedly reject Him and rebel against Him, and truly realize what we are doing). At that moment, fear goes under our feet—unless we give it place.

Hallelujah, Luke 1:73-75 states:

73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, 74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

We are more than conquerors through Christ Who loves us!

There are many reasons to read and learn the Word every day; to pray to the LORD daily; to worship and honor Him with our lives daily; to gather with the Church body; and otherwise conduct our lives and speech to His glory. One of the main reasons to do all of this is that we do these things by faith—trusting in the LORD, knowing He is real and good and worthy of all praise and honor and glory in every area of our lives, every day—and thus replacing fear with faith.

Since the fall of Adam and Eve, every human is born with fear. However, knowing and believing that we are loved; first by God, then by others, and by God forever, even if others don’t seem to love us (Human love can be fickle. God’s agape Love through Jesus Christ is eternal, unchanging, and perfect!)

So, let you and me ask ourselves what we are afraid of, and why. We can ask the Father to reveal to us hidden fears, and He will.

4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. --Psalm 34:4, KJV

The LORD has used this Scripture through the decades to help me remember that He does not send fear. (He does give us wisdom and warn us when something is not right, because He loves us, but that is discernment for our protection, not fear!)

Fears are really stupid (and I’m talking to myself, especially since I’ve walked with the LORD for many years, and He is forever faithful, merciful, gracious, generous, and good, in spite of me! Hallelujah, He loves me anyway!).

We have more faith than we might think. We trust that the sun will rise; the water turn on; the chair hold us up, etc.

How much more can we trust in the LORD our God, Who upholds the world with the Word of His power; Who has created us and all the natural things we see, and Who has given men wisdom to create things to help and bless us (the enemy has perverted some of them for wicked purposes, and he cannot create anything), and Who loves us beyond compare!

There are many Scriptures (365 at least, one for every day of the year!) where the LORD tells us not to fear.

I suffered for years from many, many fears, and it was terrible bondage! The more I recognize and refute and renounce and repent of fear, the more free I am; the more of Heaven on earth (God’s intent from the start, from the Garden of Eden!) I have!

You can too! Ask You Daddy God, your Perfect Counselor through the Holy Spirit, to reveal to you any fear in your life, and then repent of it, renounce it, and tell it to be gone, in the Name of Jesus!

Ask the LORD to help you realize afresh that, all the moments of your life, He’s been so good to you—or you (and I!) would have been dead and in hell a long time ago!

Call forth the faith of God to rise up in you; trust in Him. Thank Him for His faithfulness and goodness to you, all the days of your life, amen!
