“And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba, Father (Galatians 4:6 HCSB)!”
Da-da and Daddy are often a child’s first words.
It seals the relationship between father and child.
The bond is unbreakable between God the Father and God the Son.
Jesus was an obedient Son; He pleased the Father.
“After Jesus was baptized, He went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for Him,and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on Him. And there came a voice from heaven:
This is My beloved Son.
I take delight in Him (Matthew 3:16 HCSB)!”
Was the endearing name of Abba the first word of Jesus?
It was among some of His last.
“And He said, ‘Abba, Father! All things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will (Mark 14:36 HCSB).”
The bond remained strong.
We’re God's adopted children; He's our Abba too.
“For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father (Romans 8:15 HCSB)!”
Cry out; strengthen your bond through prayer.
He longs to hear our voices, requests and petitions.
“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7 HCSB).”
