Daily Devotional: Do You Know Whom You Worship?

by Olawale Ogunsola

Almost every man believes in one thing or personality or the other. No matter what, you have faith in someone or something. You can convince that you don't believe in anything or anyone and I will agree with you if you do not have a handset (mobile phone) or you do not ride any vehicle.

Whatever might be the brand of the mobile phone or vehicle that you ride, you believe in the product that it will work for you. You have faith in it. Do you know that it is possible for you to turn the products into an object of worship if you over value it. If you can do anything to protect it. There are people who value it you can item more than life. Some people can even die for an object, products or a person. As soon as it assumes such a dangerous dimension, it becomes an idol that they worship.

Whatever you worship, how much do you know about it or him? What can you say about it or him? What can you say about it? Before you start to have faith in your mobile phone how much do you know about it? How long have you been using it? Yet how much do you know about it? How long have you been using it? Yet how much do you know about it? How much can you say about it?

What do you will go a who do you worship? How much do you know about it? What you know will go a long way in building your confidence in him. For instance, in I Kings 18:24, it is written that Elijah challenged certain Prophets thus, "Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord, and the God who answers by fire, He is God."

The two struck an agreement and the multitude of Prophets about four hundred called on their gods from morning until evening without an answer. They wounded themselves to please Baal that it may answer if it sees blood, there was no answer. I Kings 18:25-29.

The Psamist puts it succinctly,
"Their idols are silver and gold,
The work of men's hands.
They have mouths, but they do not speak ,
Eyes they have, but they do not see,
They have ears, but they do not hear ;
Nose they have, but they do not smell,
They have hands, but they do not handle,
Feet they have, but they do not walk ;
Nor do they mutter through their throat.
Those who make them are like them ;
So is everyone who trust in them. " Psalm 115:4-8.

Do you know who" you worship? You cannot be better than who you worship. Verse eight of the above quoted verse says it plainly. Do you know his limitations? Do you just worship him because people before or around you do so? Have a rethink! You need to know whom you worship for optimum benefits.

Do you know that there are certain people who worship their true Creator but do not know Him at all know very little about Him? This is true.

In the conversation between Jesus Christ and the Samarian woman from syncar, the Lord said, you worship what you do not know, we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. "John 4:22.

Are you only religious until you become a religious bygot?Have you taken the time to know whom you worship? Have you requested Him to reveal Himself to you more to build your trust and confidence in Him more? If you want to know more about God, your Creator, that is if you think or know that you worship Him He will reveal Himself to you ask Him to. There is the need to grow in the knowledge of God so that you will not worship Him dogmatically.

Apostle Paul was told was bold, confident and assured when he says,
For this reason I also suffer these things nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I
Know whom I have believed and am pursuaded that He is able to keep
what I have committed to Him until that Day. " 2 Timothy 1:12.
He concludes by telling others who also will do it" I Thess 5:24.

Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? How much of his attributes do you know? How much of His power have you experienced? Try as much as possible to know whom you have believed. You can do this by falling in love with the word of God as contained in the Holy Bible and other Godly books written by Saints of Christ, most especially by true revelation. He can also reveal Himself to you, if you ask Him. He will surely do.

Do you believe in Christ? If you do not, you are walking on a dangerous terrain because, "The father loves the son, and has given all things into His hand. He who believes in the son (Christ) has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him" John 3:35-36.
NOTE FOR SALVATION
"The father loves the Son and has put everything into his hands.
And anyone who believes in God's Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn't
obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remain under God's
angry judgment" John 3:35-36
Stay blessed and prepare for the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
