Daily Devotional: Believe In Miracles | God Will Make A Way!

Jesus’ ministry comprised of many things. There was salvation, transformation, deliverance, healing and many more. One of the key ministry of Jesus was the miraculous. The miraculous are things that do not make sense to the normal man but it works. Through the scriptures, we see God do many strange things. This mystery of the miraculous is an advantage for the people in the kingdom of God. It is to show that God is indeed the creator of the world and He sustains the ability to do all He wants to do. In today’s video, we will talk on the topic “Believe in miracles; God will make a way.”

• Most Christians today do not believe that God is a God of the supernatural. The supernatural is anything that is beyond explanation using natural or earthly wisdom. The supernatural includes miracles, signs and wonders and this is done chiefly by God. But because of the laxity in Christians nowadays, no one is willing to contend for the anointing that can produce these results. And this has led to people disbelieving that there are miracles. But God is a God of the miraculous and we can see it in the Scriptures. Psalm 72 vs 18 says

“Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things!”

When God does things, it remains wondrous. If you are not amazed by what God has done, then it is not God that did it. God works in a way that when people see, they marvel. Psalm 118 vs 23 says “This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” When God does something for you, you also will marvel along with other people. Psalm 77 vs 14 says

“You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.”

Throughout scriptures, we see that God is a God of miracles. So believe in miracles. If you don’t believe it, how do you expect God to come through for you? Jesus Himself was a miracle worker on earth and He is still doing miracles. Acts 2 vs 22 says

“Men of Israel, listen to this message: Jesus of Nazareth was a man certified by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did among you through Him, as you yourselves know.”

• Asides Christians not believing in miracles, we have some Christians who think miracles are just attached to healing. This is another false belief. Miracles aren’t attached to healing alone. We see a story in Matthew 14 vs 13 - 21. It says

‘“When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.’

This story shows that there’s more to miracles than healing. A supernatural job, relationships, businesses and much more. When it comes to miracle working, never limit God to a particular area.

• There is a relationship between faith and miracles. Faith is the channel through which we receive in this Kingdom. It's like when you need to enter a party with an access card. Faith is the access card for you to receive. If you don't have faith, you can't get anything from God. James 1 vs 6 – 7

“But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.”

When you don’t believe someone can help you, it means you’re looking down on them and they will most likely not help you. This is the same for God. When you don’t have faith in Him, don’t expect to receive from Him.

• There are advantages to believing in miracles. Apostle Joshua Selman defines miracles as supernatural occurrences that defy the laws of nature and the usual course of events upon the earth.
