How can one ever truly walk in love in this world, where everyone thinks only of himself? People want to rise in the society at the expense of another. But God demands that we walk in the love of God. How possible is it? This article explains how this fruit of the Holy Spirit can be developed in you by the help of the Holy Spirit.

But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge] - Galatians 5:22-23 (AMP)

But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God) - Galatians 5:16 (AMP)

God cannot tell you to do what will be impossible for you to do, because God is faithful and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able - 1 Corinthians 10:13. Furthermore, all things are possible to him that believes - Mark 9:23

The good news is that love is one of the fruit of the Holy Ghost. So, when you are full of the Spirit of God, you will be full of the love of God. His presence within you will develop the love of God which He had already deposited in you at new birth - Romans 5:5

Walking in love seems to be difficult because it is contrary to the desires of the flesh but when you walk in the Spirit, you will not satisfy the flesh. The scriptures say that it is not by your might or power but by the Holy Spirit - Zechariah 4:6

The love of God expressed in your life is evidence that you are being led by the Holy Ghost. So, the more you associate with Him, the more God's love is developed in you. Remember, as iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend - Proverbs 27:17; in this case, it is the Holy Spirit sharpening you.

One way the Holy Ghost can sharpen you and develop the fruit of the Holy Spirit in you is by you studying the word of God. God's word is for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, so that you may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work- including walking in love-2 Timothy 3:16-17.

And the Spirit of the Lord is the one to guide you into all truth (John 16:13) and the word of God is the truth (John 17:17). The Holy Spirit gives you an understanding of God's will concerning love and empowers you to obey. So the more you understand the power and virtues of God's love, the more you will make the love of the Lord your quest.

Another way the Holy Ghost sharpens you and develops the fruit of the Holy Spirit in you is by you praying in the Spirit (praying in tongues, which is an evidence of you receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost). When you do so, you become more spiritually minded, thereby subduing the cravings and desires of the flesh - Romans 8:5-9. The more you pray in the Spirit, the more you develop the ability to love, even in most unlikely circumstances.

So spend time praying in the Spirit and the Holy Spirit will help you to mortify the deeds of the flesh (Romans 8:13) which fight your desire to walk in love (Galatians 5:17). Also, in the process, you develop love which His presence within accomplishes in your life.

In conclusion, it is possible to love with the love of God no matter the circumstance with the help of the Spirit of God. Love is the fruit of the Holy Spirit, so when He fully dwells and manifests Himself in you, walking in love becomes a walk-over.
