Women's Morning Devotional | A Moment To Pause, Breathe, & Reset

Hey, friend good morning and welcome to today's daily devotional. I'm so honored and thankful that you are here and I get to spend a little bit of time with you this morning. Hopefully, to give you some little bit of encouragement and hope to your heart. I am just really thankful and so honored that you are spending some time with me this morning. Cozy up grab your tea coffee, whatever you like to do in the mornings and let's go ahead and dig right in.

So For today's word, I actually wanted to read you a page out of my devotional. This is new morning mercies by Paul David tripp. Its an incredible devotional, but I actually really wanted to read you guys a page it's a little bit more than I would typically read, but just to be honest with you, I felt like when I read this um. I know that I really needed it and kind of with everything going on. I think maybe some of you might really need to hear it as well and when I was finished reading this, my first thought was that I've got to share this with you because it just was so good and I honestly think probably all if not most of you can really harbor some hope and encouragement from this today.

So here we go so it says today you can give way to fear-producing, what-ifs or rest in the sovereign care of your wise and gracious savior king. It says here's the bottom line. If you're God's child, your life is never ever out of control. It's not spinning wildly and who knows what direction with no intelligent administration. It's not controlled by the hopeless inertia of impersonal determination or abstract luck. Yes, vast pieces of your existence are out of your control beyond your power at the altar, but you must not conclude that your life is out of control, so it says there are two reasons for this.

First, the story is that your life has been included by grace in the greater story of redemption. This story is about God's age-old commitment to call a people to himself to fix everything that sin has broken to conquer sin and death, to establish a new heaven and a new earth and to invite all of his children to live there in communion with him forever. This huge story was set in motion before the earth was created. It is unstoppable and it will never have an end. Your inclusion in this story took place before you breathed your first breath. In fact, it took place before anyone breathed his or her first breath, because your story is woven into the fabric of the redemption story. There is meaning purpose and direction to every part of it. The inertia of redemption carries your story along the goal of redemption guarantees. Your destiny, the future grace of eternity secures for you all the grace that you will ever need in between. No, you will not understand all that you face and, yes, god's will will confuse the appoints, but your story has been infused with meaning and purpose because it has been included in god's story of redemption and restoration. Come on. You guys are so powerful.

Okay, last paragraph it says, but the fact that your life is under control is even more personal than that. God has appointed his son, The Lord Jesus Christ, to be head over all things to the church right now. Jesus is ruling over all things. That means that every situation, relationship and location of your life is ruled by king Jesus. You cannot be in a place that is not under his rule, Paul says elsewhere that he will continue to reign this way until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The phrase to the church is better translated for the church. This means that not only everything under the careful rule of the risen, lord Jesus and not only does he sit in the role at the right hand of the father on high, but he expedites his role for his people. In other words, he rules over all things. For your help and benefit he rules over all things, so that his grace can finish its work in you unabated. You see, the promises of his grace are only as secure as the extent of his rule. His story is unstoppable. His rule is benevolent, there is grand and gracious control over every aspect of your life. Can we all just take a deep breath and soak that in because wow, I think honestly, we all needed just a little bit of knowing that? Yes, things seem to be out of control, yes, there's so much so many moving pieces. So much going on so many ups and downs that this year has really brought us, and I know for a lot of you that can bring a lot of stress anxiety. And I just want you to be so encouraged this morning that, while things do seem to be out of control, the beautiful thing is that Jesus is in control, that his plan is not stopped. His plan is actually unstoppable and I just want you to be so encouraged this morning that we can take a deep breath. We can have peace if you are lacking in peace this morning. What I would really encourage you to do, and I've had to do this.

Many many times over the past, however long is just turn on some worship, music and just worship, God just for being God. You know, I think. Sometimes we get really caught up and it's a really great thing to be praying and interceding for things asking god for things. You know calling heaven forth, but I think sometimes what our spirit really really needs is just to stop and just to worship God for exactly who he is to worship, God and just praise him for being the incredible heavenly father that he is for the fact that he cares so much about you that he cares about every detail of your life that he cares about. The posture of your heart: he cares about your character. He cares about every fine detail and big detail over your life. That he's just a father who cares - and you know when I felt really overwhelmed by everything going on what I've really tried to do - is just stop breathing, turn on a worship song and just worship the Father for how good he is, how sovereign he is, and I found that when I've done that, it's like that peace that he promises just kind of comes back in, I think sometimes it's really hard when our minds are going a million miles an hour. Thinking about all the what-ifs, all the different things going on, and sometimes yes, those things are important, but I think sometimes what we really need is just a few minutes of just communion and you know sweet moments with the lord that really give us strength to keep Running the race and to keep going whatever that looks like for you so this morning.

I just want to encourage you that God is not off of his throne that he cares deeply about you about your life, about our country, about the world that he created. He cares so deeply and he has a plan. He is in control. You know it's times like these when, of course we're praying and interceding and all of those incredible things that really shift the atmospheres  around us, but sometimes what we need is just to go. Plop on to our heavenly father's lap, and just let them hold us and not have to have it all figured out not to have to have the perfect words to say I think sometimes what we need is just like that big old fatherly hug that just lets Us know: hey, I've got you, I am a hundred percent in control and I think that sometimes we just need to be wrapped up in that love to just regain our peace, regain our strength and our comfort and knowing that Jesus is in control and that he Loves you. I just really wanted you to know that this morning, it's okay to take a deep breath. Its okay to just pause, get a good reset! Go for a walk outside! You know, do whatever it is. That really clears your mind and creates space to have connection with the father, and just let yourself soak in that for a little bit, because I think you know it's I've said this many times. I know I'm not the first one to say it by any means, but we can't pour from empty cups, and so you know when we've got all the responsibilities of maybe being a wife or maybe being a sister being. You know um, a mother being a grandparent being a daughter, just all the different responsibilities that we all are carrying. You know. Sometimes we just need that simple reminder to just go back to the feet of Jesus and just simply rest at his feet. Let yourself get poured back into and just fill up with his spirit so that you can go forward in strength, confidence, boldness. You know so much more peace. I think we're so much more effective when we're walking and rest in peace rather than in anxiety stress fear, worry doubt those types of things. So here's your permission slip to take 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes this morning. Just sit with a father and see where he wants to fill. You back up see how he wants to pour back into you because he loves you and he cares about you um. I think it will just really set the tone for your day for you to just go forward in peace and if you um, are wanting just a little bit more kind of tips, strategies, practical tools to really be able to go forward and use your voice and Boldness and confidence, you know really making a difference for the kingdom of God.
