Morning Altar of Prayer

David had good days and bad days. He experienced great success and devastating failures. His enemies were wicked. They were in a relentless pursuit of him, day and night. First thing in the morning, when he was fresh and ready for the day, his focus turned to God. David tells us he will look up to God. It is good to let God hear our voice and see our upturned faces, first thing in the morning. We make Him the center of our attention.

The beginning of the day is the perfect time to seek counsel. We rise with rested bodies and minds. While we rest, our enemy is devising all kinds of situations that will attempt to take our focus off God, when the sun rises. Our great God, never takes His eye off us. He dispatches His angels to bring blessings, thwart the fiery darts of the enemy and place protection around us. David's morning prayers were his sacrifice, laid carefully, reverently, upon God's morning altar. He presented them early before his day began. He would face possible battles, leadership issues, hard work to be done, temptation and sorrow. David considered His God the most important counsel of his day. His source of direction and hope. Any success he would have in a day was because God made it so.

Thought For Today:
Haven't we had days when it seemed that the enemy had actually lined people up to come before us with the sole purpose of getting on our last nerve? We pray and leave home feeling good. God is good! With Him at our side failure isn't an option. That thought no sooner leaves our mind than the problems begin to present themselves. We begin the race to the finish line of our day, dodging those darts of fire. Let us call out to him, focus on Him and make our petitions and praise known to Him. No matter what comes, we will be strengthened to handle it. We know that the enemy has been defeated by the shed blood of Christ. Our enemy irritates because he knows his time is short. We will be victorious through Christ. We just need to claim it for ourselves.

Scripture For Today:
Psalm 5:3
3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.(NKJV)

3 In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare [a prayer, a sacrifice] for You and watch and wait [for You to speak to my heart]. (AMP)

3 Every morning
you'll hear me at it again.
Every morning'
I lay out the pieces of my life
on your altar
and watch for fire to descend.(MSG)

Prayer For Today:

Hello Father! Thank You that You make Your face to shine upon us each day. Your ear waits each morning to hear the sound of our voice. You have plans for our day. We are reminded that the first move is ours. We must seek You and lay our prayers upon the altar of Your counsel. Thank you for this day. We enter Your courts with praise and thanksgiving. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus' name. Amen.

I am married forty-eight years with two beautiful daughters and am MiMi to four awesome grandchildren. Jesus has walked me through the days of my life. I enjoy writing daily about Jesus.
