The beginning of the year paves a way for new diet-fads to enter the general population. After weeks of feasting and celebration, people are looking for ways to lose that extra flab they've gained. It's not surprising that people get confused because there are just too many choices to pick from. In this article, I want to recommend to you a new kind of diet that is revolutionary in every aspect, it's called "The Maker's Diet" by Jordan Rubin. It's unique because it's based strongly on biblical principles that focus on a wholesome approach to eating, dieting, and health. The Maker's Diet also helps to bring balance to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of the person. The author of the Maker's Diet contributes these natural and holistic principles to his complete physical healing after being diagnosis with a deadly disease. The seven principles of the Maker's Diet are as follows:
Healthy and Balanced Diet
If you check out Genesis, Leviticus and Numbers, the early Israelites were given very specific instruction on what to eat. Today, food is processed so much that the life-giving nutrients are removed from the food that we eat. Go natural and go organic in the supermarket. Make sure that everything you eat is fresh and not loaded with preservatives. Check out the food pyramid and know the proper balance of each kind of food to have in your diet.
Adding to the Balance
There are some nutrients which are hard to come by naturally in most food. There's no harm in taking multivitamins that have most of the vitamins/minerals that the body needs. Also, adding extra Omega 3 fatty acids into your diet will ensure that your body remains in optimum condition.
Be Extra Clean
Practicing proper hygiene (making sure that you, your house and your surroundings are clean) can improve your health as well. This will drastically reduce the amount of bacteria that can affect your body and cause illness.
Training & Pampering the Body
Take time to exercise. Science has proven that exercise improves a person's overall health. One reason why people now are falling prey to sickness is that more and more, people are becoming inactive. The invention of cars, elevators, escalators means that people put less effort into everyday movements. In the past, the Israelites didn't have such commodities and thus people were exposed to physical exertion daily as they go about doing their work. Give your body due rest daily by sleeping at least 7 hours.
A Non-toxic Environment
Change the environment that you are in. Reduce the chemicals that you use around the house and even on yourself. These chemicals are not natural and may be causing harm to your body without you knowing.
Keep Negativity from the Heart and Mind
Never fill your heart and minds with grudges, stress, or hatred, etc, because they serve no purpose in keeping anyone healthy. Take time off to relax, find peace and meditate on the Lord's goodness.
A Purposeful Life
Live with a purpose. Live with a goal. Know where you're headed and you'll never get lost.
The Maker's diet is revolutionary in its approach to overall health. If you want to transform yourself in every aspect in a Biblical way, try it out for this new year. God has blessed us with such wisdom, why not use it?

Love is patient, love is kind... I Corinthians 13:4-7
As we all know, anyone can call themselves a Christian these days. We see it all the time in TV and in the media. We may even have some acquaintances, colleagues, friends or family who claim to be Christian, yet have not fully embraced the Christian life. This is not meant to be a judgment in any way; it is simply an observation. In reality, we know that being a Christian is far more than just a personal proclamation that makes someone a Christian. So what is it that sets Christians apart from others?
Logically, we all have a set of moral beliefs that guide what we do and don't do. These deep moral beliefs and values propel us through situations and life in general, as our actions are usually based on these deep beliefs. As we grow in our faith, our actions become closer to becoming a true expression of those values.
Since my childhood, I have always loved the song, "They will know we are Christians by our love." Today's bible verse sort of maps out what that love actually means. Today, as the world looks on, Christians are encouraged to take the high road and to consistently act as loving believers with others. Love is the chosen language of Christianity; and we are compelled to love others with all our strength.
For the mandate of Christian love, delivered personally by Jesus Christ himself, beckons us to help the homeless, the downtrodden, and the lost sheep. It calls us to step out of our comfort zones to make life a little better for the hurting, weary soul. It calls us to be a little more patient, a little more comforting, and to protect those living in oppression. To love the unlovable, and the unloved...
Being a Christian really is all about love. It is not easy, yet the yoke of Christianity is light, as we actively seek to lighten the burdens of others, and try to do the right thing. As a striving people, we try to emulate Jesus, knowing full well that we are sinners and will fall short. However, understanding this perspective of Christianity, we are more apt to bring light into the lives of others as the feet and hands of Jesus.
The world may chide you for loving freely by the grace of Jesus, for His glory, even calling you a fool for doing so. You may sometimes feel on the outside personally, as your relationships are tested by others to see if you will hold your faithful stance. Your employer and even your own family and friends may find you unsavvy as you face situations with kindness and gentleness. But for striving Christians, this is all part and parcel of living the Christian Life.
So go on... Dare to define for yourself what you believe and fully embrace your Christianity to the best of your ability. You will have the Holy Spirit with you to guide you every step of the way, and let your light shine for all to see.
LESSON 15
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
By Dr. George Watkins
Because there is a danger, in the present move of God, to over-emphasize the Gifts of the Spirit, it is necessary to bring a balance by giving proper attention to the study of the "Fruit of the Spirit".
(1) WHAT IS THE "FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT"?
(Galatians 5:22) tells us that "...the fruit of the Spirit is":
A. Love
B. Joy
C. Peace
D. Long-suffering
E. Gentleness
F. Goodness
G. Faith
H. Meekness
I. Temperance
The word "fruit" is used here metaphorically to mean "result", or "outcome". In other words, the result or outcome of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life should be the nine virtues listed above. Vine's defines fruit as "being the visible expression of power working inwardly and invisibly, the character of the fruit being evidence of the character of the power producing it".
(2) HOW ARE THESE "VIRTUES" BROUGHT ABOUT IN OUR LIVES?
A. By the Gospel (Colossians 1:5-6). B. By being joined to Christ (Romans 7:4). C. By abiding in Christ and allowing ourselves to be "pruned" (John 15:1,4). D. Tribulation (Romans 5:3). E. Not walking in the counsel of the wicked (Psalms 1:1). F. Not standing in the way of sinners (Psalms 1:1).
G. Not sitting in the seat of scoffers (Psalms 1:1).
H. By delighting in and meditating in God's Word (Psalms 1:2).
I. By walking as "children of light" (Ephesians 5:7-9).By making no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts (Romans 13:14), and dying to "self" (John 12:24).
K. By allowing ourselves to be trained by chastening (Hebrews 12:11).
(3) HOW IMPORTANT IS IT THAT WE "BEAR FRUIT"?
A. Jesus said it was for this purpose that He chose us (John 15:16).
B. Scripture tells us that we are to bring forth fruit in keeping with our repentance (Matthew 3:8).
C. Entrance into God's eternal kingdom will be supplied by having, practicing, and increasing in Christian virtues (II Peter 1:8-11).
D. We are warned of the danger of not bearing fruit or bearing bad fruit:
1. Every tree that does not bear fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire (Matthew 3:10).
2. The parable of the talents teaches us that the Lord expects a return on that which He has entrusted to us (Matthew 25:14-30).
3. (Hebrews 6:8) warns us that that which has received what is needed to produce fruit and does not, is rejected, nigh unto cursing and whose end is to be burned.
4. False prophets can be distinguished by their "fruit".
E. The apostle Paul said that even if he spoke in tongues, prophesied, knew all mysteries and all knowledge, had all faith, gave all his possessions to feed the poor, and even became a martyr, he was nothing if he did not have love (I Corinthians 13:1-3). Later on in his letter to the Colossians, he exhorted them to put on love, which is the bond of perfectness (Colossians 3:14).
(4) DO WE POSSESS ALL NINE VIRTUES WHEN WE RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT?
A. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive only the enabling power to bring forth these virtues in our lives.
B. The Bible is clear on its teaching that fruit can only be brought forth in due season (Psalms 1:3).

Back in the day, computer games were plain and had low-quality graphics and animation. However, computer technology advanced so quickly that games became more sophisticated and refined. Gaming consoles have improved sound and video quality. PlayStation enthusiasts can prove how technology has changed the way people play games. Creators of game consoles do not stop with their latest additions. The PlayStation 4 is one of the upcoming game consoles that are creating a buzz in the market now.
With the new game consoles nowadays, it is possible to pretend that you are looking at realistic images of the characters in the game. Players also have taken advantage of the greater flexibility of today’s gaming consoles.
One of the top companies the manufacture gaming devices is Sony. This multimillionaire company is known for its excellent graphics and sound technology with its high-tech televisions, laptops, digital cameras, and camcorders which are also popular in the “games” market.
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has revealed a new Samsung tablet called the GT-N8000. The group, which qualifies devices that use Bluetooth, simply lists the device as a “mobiletablet,” but it’s not known exactly what the device will offer. Our gut instincts are telling us that this could be Samsung’s highly rumored 10.1-inch Galaxy Note.
Samsung will not be holding a press conference during Mobile World Congress next week. However, we suspect the company will have at least a few new products and could announce a new tablet. We’re not so sure what sort of hardware a 10.1-inch Galaxy Note will offer, but we suspect it will come equipped with Samsung’s S Pen technology that was first featured in the Galaxy Note. We also believe it should run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, although that’s just speculation. TechnoBuffalo will be reporting from Barcelona as all of the news breaks, so be sure to check back often for more information!
[via Android Central]
The Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T’s 4G LTE network is one of the most talked about device’s in recent memory as it combines features of a tablet and a phone. Well, before today, thecheapest you could get it for was $250 through Amazon. However, AT&T is currently offering it up for a mere $150 to those signing a new contract or to those adding a new line.
That’s 50% off the $299.99 price that AT&T currently has pegged on the Galaxy Note and that means those of you serious about getting the Galaxy Note should probably take advantage of this offer before it disappears into the ether.
In order to take advantage of the deal, you’ll first want to head to AT&T’s website.
(Read: Samsung Galaxy Note Review: Editors’ Choice Award.)
Once you’re there, select either New to AT&T or Add a Line, choose the Samsung Galaxy Note and go through all of the different screens until you get to the Checkout page. Until you get there, the phone is going to show up as being $299.99.
When you get to the Checkout screen, you should see the 50% discount pop up shaving a cool $150 off of the price.
Again.
This is an incredible deal on this device and the price likely won’t get this low for some time. Don’t try walking into a store and demanding this offer either. This is online only.
So, if you’re in the market for a phone that employs tablet-like abilities, this is something to look into.
A quick reminder though.
We’ve heard that Samsung might be introducing a larger version of the Samsung Galaxy Note, a Galaxy Note 10.1, that might be introduced at this month’s Mobile World Congress.
Details are scarce so don’t let it scare you, just something to keep in mind.

PRINCIPLES OF KINGDOM LIVING
LESSON 14
THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND THE CHURCH
BY DR. GEORGE WATKINS
The Kingdom of God and the Church are woven together throughout the Scriptures. The Kingdom of God is God's purpose, while the Church is the instrument to fulfill that purpose and that which is used to extend God's sovereign rule.
(1) WHAT IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD?
A. It is synonymous with the Kingdom of Heaven:
1. (Matthew 4:17); (Mark 1:14)
2. (Matthew 5:3); (Luke 6:20)
3. (Matthew 10:7); (Luke 9:2)
4. (Matthew 13:31); (Mark 4:30-31)
5. (Matthew 19:14); (Mark 10:14)
6. (Matthew 19:23); (Luke 18:24)
B. It is an everlasting Kingdom (Daniel 4:3); (II Peter 1:11); (Luke1:33).
C. It is superior to, and above, all other kingdoms (Psalms 103:19).
D. It is not of the world (John 18:36).
E. It is within the believer (Luke 17:21).
F. It is righteousness (Hebrews 1:8), peace and joy (Romans 14:17).
G. Not only in word, but in power (I Corinthians 4:20).
H. It is our inheritance as believers (Matthew 25:34):
1. Must be born-again to receive (John 3:1-5).
2. Not to be inherited by flesh and blood (I Corinthians 15:50).
3. We are to seek it above all else (Matthew 6:33).
(2) HOW IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO BE EXPRESSED ON THE EARTH?
Through the Church (Matthew 21:43).
3) WHAT IS THE CHURCH?
A. The Church is a group of born-again believers meeting together to worship God, to be trained in the ways of God's Kingdom, and to minister to the world the Gospel of the Kingdom. The Bible indicates that there are two aspects of the church:
1. Local
2. Universal
B. The Church is not a literal building, but a body of redeemed people
(I Corinthians 12:27).
C. The Church is not a denomination or sect:
1. There is no scripture authorizing the present divisions in Christianity.
2. The New Testament church is not to be divided by anything.
3. The Church must reach every society, every nation, every language, every person.
(4) WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF THE WORLD "CHURCH"?
A. The word "church", from the Greek text, is: "assembly, gathering, meeting". It is used of the Christian Church or congregation.
It literally means a "calling out of". This message is conveyed to us in (II Corinthians 6:17).
B. There are two main aspects of the church:
1. The Church "invisible" (Ephesians 3:21); (Hebrews 12:22-23).
This is union in a spiritual body for the habitation of God, by the Spirit, with Jesus as the Head. It is not spoken of in a visible sense, but is an invisible union of all true believers in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:19-22); (I Corinthians 3:16).
2. The Church "visible" (Matthew 18:15-20):
a. Groups of believers in a given location (Matthew 18:20).
b. Gathered to the person of Jesus Christ for worship (John 4:24).
c. Marked out by confession of sin (Romans 10:9-10).
d. Living a disciplined life (Matthew 18:19-20).
e. Under the oversight of gifted ministries (Ephesians 4:9-13).
f. Established in the principles of Christ's doctrine (Acts 2:42); (Hebrews 6:1-2).
g. Keeping the memorial of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 11:23-34).
h. Locally governed, yet in fellowship with other groups of believers in their area (Revelation 1:11); (Philippians 1:1).
(5) WHAT IS THE LOCAL CHURCH?
A. It is any local assembly made up of members of the universal Church, or Body of Christ, whose common bond is their fellowship with Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 1:2); (Philippians 1:1); (I Thessalonians 1:1); (Galatians 1:2).
B. It is the voice of the Universal Church in any given location.
1. Its mission is to proclaim and demonstrate the message and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20); (Mark 26:15-18); (John 17:13-18).
2. The message of the church will be reflected in the mission of the Church.
C. We must attach ourselves to a local assembly:
1. The Bible admonishes us to do so (Hebrews 10:25).
2. We must experience the wonders of congregational worship, prayer, training, and fellowship.
3. We must allow our children to be influenced by the habits, disciplines and sacraments of Christian living.
4. We must "edify,” or build up one another in the faith of the Lord
(Romans 14:19); (I Thessalonians 5:11).
(6) BY WHAT OTHER NAMES IS THE CHURCH CALLED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT?
A. Temple (Ephesians 2:21); (I Peter 2:5). Jesus, is the "chief cornerstone".
B. Family (Ephesians 3:15). Jesus, the Head.
C. Body (Ephesians 1:22-23); (4:16). Jesus, the Head.
D. Bride (Ephesians 5:14-32). Jesus, the Bridegroom.
E. Army (Ephesians 6:10-17); (Hebrews 2:10). Jesus, the Captain.
F. City (Matthew 5:14); (Hebrews 11:10); (Hebrews 12:22). Jesus, the Light.
G. Vineyard (John 15:1-7). Jesus, the Vine.
H. Sheepfold (John 10:1-6). Jesus, the Great Shepherd.
I. Holy Nation (I Peter 2:9); (Ephesians 2:19); (Psalms 8:7). Jesus, the Firstborn (Hebrews 12:23).
J. Holy Priesthood (I Peter 1:5,9). Jesus, the High Priest (Hebrews 7).
K. Chosen Generation (I Peter 2:9); (Psalms 102:18).
The church is not a lifeless institution, but a living unit. It is an organism, not an organization. It is a fellowship of all those who share the life of the Lord Jesus Christ and who are linked together in living union by the Holy Spirit.

I’ve enjoyed the PS Vita for a couple of weeks now. It’s a fun device, but as John describes in our review, it feels like the last of its kind. Single function devices are no longer relevant and as much as Sony tried, the Vita is still pretty much a dedicated gaming handheld.
The company launched an app store for the Vita today, which folds Facebook, Netflix, Twitter, and Flickr apps into the Vita’s ecosystem. With these apps, along with the powerful hardware and 3G connectivity, the $249 Vita could be a good alternative to a traditional tablet. The only thing it’s missing is a proper web browser.
The apps work as expected. The Netflix app uses the same interface as the company’s Android and iOS apps. The app does not support streaming via a 3G network, though. Flickr is downright gorgeous on the Vita. The interface takes full advantage of the Vita’s widescreen OLED screen displaying the image on the left with the details on the right. This app works on 3G. For some reason Facebook is only available to European Vitas. U.S. owners will need to wait a bit longer.
These apps finally make the Vita slightly more than just a gaming device. They’re key to the Vita’s success, really. Today’s consumers expect a multifunction device, which, as I can attest, the Vita was not until these apps hit. In fact I was getting a tad bored with the Vita, tending to instead to pick up my iPad for a few minutes of gaming followed by some Facebooking.
You see, my gaming attention span is not what it used to be. There was a time when I played Link’s Awakening by flashlight under my bed sheets for hours. Not anymore. I can only handle a few minutes at a time before I get bored and need to move onto something else. I know I cannot be alone. The $249 Vita (or $300 for the 3G version) was a hard sell for me. But now that there are apps, it could potentially fulfill the need of a similar person who wants a gaming device but can’t give up the features of a modern tablet. The Vita already had a Google Maps app, text and voice messaging, and a photo app. If only the Vita had a quality web browser it would be nearly perfect for this demographic.
The Vita’s web browser still needs work. It renders web sites like IE 6 (read: poorly). It doesn’t support even Flash 9 and scrolling is painful because of how slow it renders. But it works in a pinch.
The Vita is a powerful little thing. It rocks a custom ARM Cortex A9 quad-core CPU, 512MB of RAM, and packs the same amount of connectivity options as an iPad. The 5-inch screen is an OLED capacitive touchscreen and then there’s a massive rear capacitive touchpad for additional controls. There’s dual analog sticks, a directional pad and traditional PlayStation controls. The Vita really is the most impressive gaming device ever made. But even with good launch titles in my opinion it was still missing something: apps.
The Vita is launching in a tough market. No other gaming device including Nintendo’s 3DS had to deal with so many competitors. The Vita must combat smartphones, tablets, the 3DS and in the coming weeks, the iPad 3, which will no doubt launch with the force of a mighty backdraft. But Sony seems to know this. The Vita’s hardware and accessories are pricey, hinting that Sony isn’t selling them at a loss. Sony probably knows the Vita won’t outsell the iPad. It doesn’t have to in order to be considered a success. As long as the Vita gets quality games, apps and new features at a steady rate, Sony will continue to make gamers happy. And that’s what it’s all about.
While Motorola tablets may not exactly be flying off the shelves, that hasn’t stopped Motorola from trying everything they can to sell them. Occasionally they’re even a pretty good deal! For example, right now you can get the 8.2″ Xyboard with a free portfolio case (normally ) and HD dock (normally ) for 9. If 10.1″ tablets are more your style, you can get the same deal on the larger model for 9. Both tablets are WiFi-only with 16GB of onboard storage.
All the negative stigma attached to the Xoom aside, the Xyboard is a decent tablet. While it’s …
