Along with Harden, P.J. Tucker and Filip Petrusev are headed to Los Angeles as part of the deal.

Harden, 34, requested a trade in June when he opted into his $35.6 million player option for the 2023-24 season. During a promotional appearance in China in August, he called 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey "a liar" multiple times, and acknowledged earlier this month upon rejoining the team that their relationship was irreparable.

Hello, my dear friends! I hope you are having a blessed and beautiful day. I'm here to share with you some words of encouragement and inspiration that I received from God this morning.

You see, sometimes we get so caught up in our own plans and expectations that we forget to trust in God's perfect timing and wisdom. We try to figure out everything on our own, and we get frustrated and anxious when things don't go our way. We start to doubt ourselves and our purpose, and we lose sight of the bigger picture.

But God is saying to us today: "Your time is coming - stop trying to figure it out!" He is telling us to relax and let go of our worries and fears. He is asking us to surrender our lives to Him and to follow His lead. He is reminding us that He has a wonderful plan for each one of us, and that He will make everything work out for our good in His time.

So, my friends, don't give up on your dreams and goals. Don't let the challenges and obstacles discourage you. Don't let the negative voices in your head or around you bring you down. Instead, keep your faith and hope alive. Keep praying and praising God for His goodness and grace. Keep doing your best and working hard with excellence. Keep trusting and waiting on God's timing and direction.

Your time is coming, my friends. God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He is preparing you for your breakthrough and blessing. He is aligning everything in your favor. He is opening doors that no one can shut. He is making a way where there seems to be no way.

Your time is coming, my friends. God is saying it loud and clear. Stop trying to figure it out, and start living in His peace and joy. You are loved, you are valued, you are chosen by God. You have a destiny and a future that He has designed for you. You have a reason to smile and celebrate today.

Your time is coming, my friends. Believe it, receive it, declare it, and thank God for it. Amen!

Hello, brothers in Christ! Welcome to another #motivationMonday, where we share some insights and tips on how to live out our faith in our daily lives. Today, I want to talk to you about how to start your week with God's strength.

We all know that Mondays can be tough. We have to face the challenges and pressures of work, school, family, and other responsibilities. We may feel tired, stressed, or overwhelmed. We may wonder how we can handle everything that comes our way.

But we don't have to face Mondays alone. We have a powerful ally who is always with us, who loves us, and who wants to help us. His name is Yahsua (Jesus). He is the source of our strength, our joy, and our peace. He is the one who can give us the motivation and the courage to face any situation.

So how can we start our week with God's strength? Here are three simple steps that you can do every Monday morning:

  1. Pray. Before you do anything else, spend some time talking to God. Thank Him for the gift of a new day and a new week. Ask Him to guide you, protect you, and bless you. Tell Him your needs, your worries, and your hopes. Invite Him to be with you throughout the day and the week. Listen to His voice and His promises.

  1. Read. Open your Bible and read a passage that inspires you or challenges you. You can follow a reading plan, or just pick a verse that speaks to your heart. Meditate on what God is saying to you through His word. Apply it to your life and your situation. Memorize it and repeat it throughout the day.

  1. Share. Don't keep God's strength to yourself. Share it with others who may need it. Encourage a friend, a coworker, or a family member with a word of hope or a prayer. Be a witness of God's love and power in your words and actions. Let others see that you have something different, something better, something that comes from God.

These are three simple steps that can make a big difference in your week. By praying, reading, and sharing, you are connecting with God and receiving His strength. You are not relying on your own abilities, but on His grace. You are not facing the week alone, but with Him by your side.

So don't let Mondays get you down. Start your week with God's strength and see what He can do in you and through you. He has great plans for you and He will help you accomplish them.

Have a blessed week!

Perry, along with other prominent figures such as Sean “Diddy” Combs and Byron Allen, had shown interest in acquiring a stake in the unit, which includes the BET channel, BET+, VH1, and BET Studios.

Billionaire media mogul Tyler Perry didn’t mince words about his frustration with how executives at Paramount Global carried out the bidding process for the sale of its BET business.

In a candid expression of disappointment, Tyler Perry has voiced his discontent with the lack of transparency with the deal. Perry, along with other prominent figures such as Sean “Diddy” Combs and Byron Allen, had shown interest in acquiring a stake in the unit, which includes the BET channel, BET+, VH1, and BET Studios.

BET Sale Drama

In August, the studio conglomerate led by Bob Bakish took down its “for sale” sign on the unit.

“We made this decision because the benefits of maintaining a majority stake in BET Media Group creates more value for Paramount than any of the proposals we received,” a source close to Paramount told The New York Post Summer 2023.

Though Perry didn’t share many details on what transpired, he added, “Don’t try to get me to pay for something that’s not worth anywhere near the value.” Paramount claimed it was.

Bids that were put on the table ranged from $2 billion to around $3 billion, including Perry’s which was reportedly supported by Ariel Alternatives, as Finurah previously reported.

The Aftermath

Perry recently said he was not happy with the whole process.

During the Oct. 18 “Bloomberg Equality: An Evening with Tyler Perry” at The Gathering Spot in metropolitan Atlanta, he said, “I was disappointed about it for a number of reasons. The way it happened was disrespectful in a lot of ways,” Perry said, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

You know exercise is good for your physical health, but did you know it’s also good for your brain? The latest neurological research has shown that there is a so-called ‘magic protein’ called Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) that has the power to supercharge your brain and improve your memory. And it is stimulated by cardiovascular exercise!

BDNF can rewire and build new neural pathways in the brain, especially in the crucial areas that control memory (the hippocampus) and analysis, thinking, and decision-making (the frontal lobes). Your frontal lobes are where most of the intellectual activity of the brain takes place, from processing the data that’s coming in all the time to problem-solving and making ethical decisions.  And you can keep these critical parts of your brain bathed in BDNF by merely increasing the amount of exercise in your daily routine.

If you find it hard to commit to regular exercise, here are three ways you can make it easier and supercharge your brain at the same time.

  • Make it Fun

The key to maintaining an exercise regime is to choose an activity or activities that you enjoy. Not everyone likes going to the gym, but there are many other ways to increase your heart rate and get the BDNF pumping.

Dancing, swimming, hiking out in nature, and bike riding will all get your heart rate up, and you’ll enjoy doing it. Even brisk walking will help. As a bonus, exercise will boost your endorphins, too, making you happier and more relaxed.

  • Schedule Your Exercise

It’s easier to stick to a regular exercise plan if you schedule time in your diary. Set aside time and increase your sessions until you’re exercising for thirty minutes, four or five times a week. Like any other habit, once you make it a priority, it will become just another part of your regular routine like brushing your teeth.

  • Make it Musical

Research has shown that music can increase motivation and happiness. Exercise will be much more fun if you’re bopping away to your favorite tunes. Even housework can become a brain-boosting dance routine when you’re vacuuming along to music that makes you smile. Turn up the volume and start cleaning to the beat!

Create a playlist of your favorite songs, and you will find that exercise is pleasurable and much easier to stick to when there’s upbeat music to encourage you!

Men should be adventurous and try new things, whether it's a new hobby, a new skill or a new destination. They should challenge themselves and grow from their experiences.

🟣  Be playful. Lions are not always serious and stern. They also like to have fun and play with their mates and cubs. They enjoy the simple pleasures of life and don't take themselves too seriously. Men should be playful and have a sense of humor. They should laugh more, joke more and smile more. They should also make time for fun activities with their family and friends.

Hello, dear friends! Welcome to another #MondayMotivation Christian devotional. Today, I want to share with you a powerful message that has changed my life and can change yours too. It is this: Let God lead you and everything will fall into place.

You see, many times we try to control everything in our lives. We worry about the future, we stress about the present, we regret the past. We think we know what is best for us and for others. We try to make things happen according to our plans and expectations. But the truth is, we don't have the full picture. We don't know what God has in store for us. We don't know what challenges and opportunities He will bring our way. We don't know what blessings and lessons He has prepared for us.

That's why we need to let go and let God. We need to trust Him with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. We need to acknowledge Him in all our ways and He will make our paths straight. We need to surrender our will to His will and He will work all things together for our good.

When we do that, we will experience peace, joy, and freedom. We will stop worrying about things we can't control and start focusing on things we can. We will stop striving for things that don't satisfy and start enjoying the things that do. We will stop living in fear and start living in faith.

Let me tell you a personal story that illustrates this point. A few years ago, I was working in a job that I hated. I felt stuck, unhappy, and frustrated. I wanted to quit, but I didn't know what else to do. I prayed to God for guidance, but I didn't hear anything. I felt like He had forgotten me.

One day, I decided to take a leap of faith and resign from my job. I didn't have another job lined up, but I trusted that God would provide for me. I felt scared, but also excited. I felt like I was finally following God's plan for my life.

The next day, I received a phone call from an old friend who offered me a job opportunity in a different city. It was exactly what I had been looking for: a meaningful work that aligned with my passion and purpose. I accepted the offer without hesitation and moved to the new city.

It turned out to be the best decision of my life. I loved my new job, I made new friends, I grew in my faith. Everything fell into place because I let God lead me.

Friends, this is not a coincidence. This is God's grace. This is what happens when we let God lead us and everything falls into place.

So today, I want to encourage you to do the same. Let go of your worries, your fears, your doubts, your plans, your expectations. Let God take over your life and watch Him do amazing things in you and through you.

Remember: Let God lead you and everything will fall into place.

God bless you!

On this episode of Church on the Block we continue our discussion on women in ministry. We welcome special guest Ekemini Uwan, Author, Podcast Host and NAACP Award Winner. We have an enlightening discussion on Pan-Africanism, Public Theology and Reparations.

Ekemini’s Journey to Faith and Ministry

Ekemini shared her journey of coming to faith in college and her involvement in her church, Hope’s House Christian Ministries. She emphasized the significance of having a mentor who has guided her for almost 20 years. Her path to becoming a public theologian was not one she chose, but one she believes was chosen for her by God. After a sudden job loss, she transitioned from a corporate job to pursue ministry, leading her to attend seminary to deepen her understanding of the Word of God.

As she continued her studies, Ekemini started receiving opportunities to speak and write about God in public settings. These experiences allowed her to engage with secular audiences and share her faith in a broader context. We all expressed our excitement for this discussion and hope that it will challenge listeners to reconsider their views on women in ministry.

The Importance of Public Theology

Ekemini shared the importance of public theology and how it helps people understand and navigate the complexities of our world, including politics, race, and pop culture. She emphasized the need to make theology accessible and demystify God for people. She incorporates her cultural identity as a Nigerian American woman into her theological conversations, believing that as embodied souls, it is crucial to take seriously the fundamentals of faith, such as the bodily resurrection of Jesus.

Embracing Identity, Decolonizing Minds and The Push for Reparations

Ekemini’s social location, being at the intersection of being black, Nigerian, and American, informs her work on issues like Pan-Africanism, reparations, and colonialism. She recognizes the historical context of her people being colonized and trafficked in the transatlantic slave trade. She expresses gratitude for her upbringing, despite its challenges, as it shaped her racial consciousness and collective mindset.

The Diversity Within Black Culture

We discussed the diversity within black culture and the importance of unity. We highlighted the different regional influences on black culture in the US, including vernacular, style of dress, and music. We emphasized the need to remember that as black people, we belong to one another and should live into a collectivist cultural mentality.

The Intersection of Theology and Practice

We agreed on the importance of unity and discussed the misconception that theology and practice should be separate. We realized the need for collaboration and understanding between the two. While theory is important, there also needs to be praxis, or practical application, in our work. We expressed the need for policy changes and activism to accompany our intellectual pursuits.

Addressing Issues Within the Black Community

We discussed the importance of addressing issues within the black community, such as singleness and the decline of identification with faith. We stressed the need for critical mass and hands-on involvement to bring about healing and restoration within the community. We believe that black institutions, including the church, need to be intentional in counteracting these issues.

I hope this conversation has challenged you to reconsider your views on women in ministry and the role of the church in addressing issues within the black community.

You can connect with Ekemini on her website sistamatictheology.com. Do you want to support the work that Holy Culture Radio is doing? Make a one-time donation or shop the online store. Thank you for tuning in and God bless.

Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to another #Wellnesswednesday blog post, where I share with you some tips and tricks to live a healthier and happier life. Today, I want to talk to you about one of my favorite topics: food! 🍽️

But not just any food, oh no. I'm talking about the Mediterranean diet, which is one of the most delicious and nutritious ways of eating in the world. The Mediterranean diet is based on the traditional foods and recipes of the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, such as Greece, Italy, Spain, and Morocco. Think of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, olive oil, fish, lean meats, herbs, spices, and yes, even some wine! 🍷

Sounds amazing, right? Well, it gets even better. The Mediterranean diet is not only tasty, but also very beneficial for your health, especially if you are a woman. Studies have shown that following this diet can lower your risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and depression. It can also improve your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, brain function, mood, skin health, and longevity. Wow! 😍

So how can you start enjoying the Mediterranean diet today? It's easier than you think. You don't have to follow any strict rules or count calories. You just have to make some simple swaps and additions to your meals and snacks. Here are some examples:

- Replace butter with olive oil for cooking and dressing.

- Eat more fruits and vegetables every day, preferably raw or lightly cooked.

- Choose whole grains over refined ones, such as brown rice, quinoa, oats, and whole wheat bread.

- Include legumes like beans, lentils, chickpeas, and hummus in your diet at least twice a week.

- Snack on nuts and seeds instead of chips or cookies.

- Eat fish, but not shellfish, at least twice a week and limit red meat to once or twice a month.

- Enjoy dairy products like yogurt and cheese in moderation.

- Spice up your dishes with herbs like basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, and mint.

- Drink plenty of water and limit sugary drinks like soda and juice.

- Treat yourself to a glass of red wine with dinner occasionally (if you drink alcohol).

- Savor dark chocolate in small amounts for dessert.

That's it! You see? It's not that hard to eat like a Mediterranean Queen. And trust me, you will feel the difference in your body and mind. So go ahead and give it a try. You deserve it! 💕

Hello, lovely ladies! Welcome to another #Womenwednesday, where we share some Christian devotion to uplift and inspire you. Today, I want to talk about how God loves you just the way you are, and how you can love yourself too.

You see, sometimes we women can be too hard on ourselves. We compare ourselves to others, we feel insecure about our appearance, we doubt our abilities, we worry about what others think of us. We forget that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator, who knows every hair on our head and every thought in our heart.

But God doesn't want us to live in fear or shame. He wants us to live in joy and freedom. He wants us to embrace our uniqueness and celebrate our gifts. He wants us to see ourselves as He sees us: beautiful, beloved, and blessed.

So how can we do that? How can we love ourselves as God loves us? Here are some practical tips that I hope will help you:

- Start your day with gratitude. Thank God for giving you another day of life, for breathing His breath into you, for making you in His image. Thank Him for all the good things He has done for you, and all the good things He has planned for you.

- Speak kindly to yourself. Replace negative thoughts with positive affirmations. Say things like "I am a child of God", "I am fearfully and wonderfully made", "I am loved and accepted", "I am strong and capable", "I am beautiful and valuable". Say them out loud, write them down, repeat them until you believe them.

- Take care of yourself. Treat your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit. Eat well, drink water, exercise, rest, relax. Do things that make you happy and healthy. Pamper yourself with a nice bath, a good book, a cozy blanket, a cup of tea. You deserve it!

- Surround yourself with positive people. Seek out friends who encourage you, support you, and challenge you to grow. Avoid people who criticize you, judge you, or bring you down. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

- Serve others with love. Use your gifts and talents to bless others and glorify God. Find ways to help your family, your church, your community, your world. You have something unique to offer that no one else can. You are a light in the darkness.

- Remember God's promises. Whenever you feel discouraged or doubtful, turn to God's Word and remind yourself of His truth. He says that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5), that He has plans to prosper you and not to harm you (Jeremiah 29:11), that He will work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), that He will give you peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), that He will make you more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37), that He will do immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

- Trust in His love. Above all, know that God loves you unconditionally and eternally. Nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39). He loves you so much that He sent His Son to die for you (John 3:16). He loves you so much that He calls you His friend (John 15:15). He loves you so much that He rejoices over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17).

I hope this devotion has encouraged you today, my sisters in Christ. You are amazing women of God, and I am so proud of you. Remember to love yourself as God loves you, and share that love with others. Have a wonderful #Womenwednesday!

Do you ever feel like your emotions are getting the best of you? Do you struggle with anxiety, fear, anger, or sadness? Do you let your feelings dictate your decisions and actions?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you need to hear this: God is telling you to walk by faith, not by your emotions.

What does it mean to walk by faith? It means to trust God and His promises, even when you don't see or feel them. It means to obey God and His commands, even when they don't make sense or seem hard. It means to follow God and His plans, even when they are different from yours or take you out of your comfort zone.

Walking by faith is not easy. It requires courage, patience, and perseverance. It goes against our natural tendencies and preferences. It challenges our logic and reasoning. It exposes our weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

But walking by faith is also rewarding. It brings peace, joy, and hope. It strengthens our relationship with God and others. It transforms our character and perspective. It unlocks our potential and purpose.

Walking by faith is not a one-time event. It is a daily choice. Every day, we have to decide whether we will let our emotions rule us or whether we will submit them to God. Every day, we have to choose whether we will believe what we see or what God says. Every day, we have to determine whether we will follow our feelings or God's will.

How do we walk by faith? We walk by faith by reading God's word and meditating on His promises. We walk by faith by praying and listening to His voice. We walk by faith by worshiping and praising Him for who He is and what He has done. We walk by faith by serving and loving others as He has loved us.

God is telling you to walk by faith, not by your emotions. He is telling you to trust Him more than your feelings. He is telling you to obey Him more than your desires. He is telling you to follow Him more than your plans.

Will you listen to Him? Will you walk by faith today?

Devotional For Men: Be Humble!

Hello, brothers in Christ! I'm excited to share with you a devotion based on 1 Peter 5:5, which says: "In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, 'God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.'" (NIV)

This verse teaches us two important lessons about how to live as Christian men in a world that values pride and self-reliance.

First, we need to respect and learn from those who are older and wiser than us. They have gone through many trials and temptations, and they can help us grow in our faith and maturity.

Second, we need to humble ourselves before God and others, recognizing that we are not better than anyone else, and that we depend on God's grace and mercy every day.

Humility is not a sign of weakness, but of strength. It is not a denial of our gifts and talents, but a recognition of their source. It is not a lack of confidence, but a trust in God's power and plan. Humility is the attitude that Jesus modeled for us, when he washed his disciples' feet, when he prayed in the garden, when he died on the cross. Humility is the key to receiving God's favor and blessing.

So how can we practice humility in our daily lives? Here are some practical suggestions:

🟣 Pray regularly and ask God to show you your sins and weaknesses, and to help you overcome them.

🟣 Read the Bible and learn from the examples of humble men like Abraham, Moses, David, Paul, and others.

🟣 Listen to your elders and mentors, and seek their advice and guidance.

🟣 Serve others in your family, church, community, and workplace, without expecting anything in return.

🟣 Admit your mistakes and apologize when you hurt someone.

🟣 Forgive others who hurt you and don't hold grudges.

🟣 Don't boast about yourself or compare yourself with others.

🟣 Thank God for everything he has given you and done for you.

Brothers, let's clothe ourselves with humility today and every day. Let's follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ, who humbled himself for our sake. Let's remember that God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. And let's ask ourselves: How can I apply this to my life? Amen!

What the Bible Teaches About Wellness

Wellness is a popular topic these days, but what does it mean from a biblical perspective? How can we pursue wellness in a way that honors God and aligns with His will for our lives? In this blog post, we will explore some of the principles and practices that the Bible teaches about wellness, and how we can apply them to our daily lives.

First, we need to understand that wellness is not just about physical health, but also about spiritual, mental, emotional, and relational health. The Bible teaches that we are holistic beings, created in the image of God, and that every aspect of our being affects the others. For example, Proverbs 17:22 says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." This means that our emotional state can have an impact on our physical health, and vice versa. Therefore, we need to care for our whole selves, not just one part.

Second, we need to recognize that wellness is not an end in itself, but a means to glorify God and serve others. The Bible teaches that we are not our own, but belong to God, who bought us with a price (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). This means that our bodies are not for our own pleasure or convenience, but for God's purposes and glory. We are called to use our bodies as instruments of righteousness (Romans 6:13), and to offer them as living sacrifices to God (Romans 12:1). Therefore, we need to steward our bodies well, not for selfish reasons, but for God's sake and for the benefit of others.

Third, we need to realize that wellness is not a guarantee or a right, but a gift and a responsibility. The Bible teaches that we live in a fallen world, where sin and death have corrupted everything, including our bodies. We are subject to sickness, pain, aging, and death, and no amount of wellness practices can prevent or reverse these realities. However, the Bible also teaches that God is sovereign and gracious, and that He can heal us, sustain us, and use us in spite of our weaknesses. He can also give us peace and joy in the midst of our trials. Therefore, we need to trust God with our bodies, not demand or expect anything from Him, but thank Him for what He gives us and do what He asks us to do.

In conclusion, the Bible teaches that wellness is a holistic concept that involves caring for our whole selves in a way that honors God and serves others. It is not an end in itself, but a means to glorify God and fulfill His purposes. It is not a guarantee or a right, but a gift and a responsibility. By following these biblical principles and practices, we can pursue wellness in a way that pleases God and blesses

others.

Have you ever felt like you were missing something in your life? Like you were going through the motions, but not really living with passion and purpose? If so, you are not alone. Many people struggle to find their fire, their God-given calling that ignites their heart and soul.

But the good news is that the Bible has a lot to say about finding your fire. In fact, God wants you to discover and pursue the unique gifts and talents He has given you, so that you can glorify Him and bless others. Here are some biblical principles that can help you find your fire and live a fulfilling life.

  1. Seek God first. The first and most important step to finding your fire is to seek God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. Jesus said, "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). When you put God first in your life, He will reveal His will and direction for you. He will also fill you with His love, joy, peace and power, which are essential for living a fiery life.

  1. Discover your gifts. God has created you with a unique combination of abilities, personality, interests and experiences that make you who you are. He has also given you spiritual gifts that enable you to serve Him and others in a special way. The apostle Paul wrote, "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us" (Romans 12:6). To find your fire, you need to discover and develop your gifts, and use them for God's glory.

  1. Follow your passions. God has also placed in your heart certain passions and desires that reflect His own heart. These are the things that make you come alive, that excite you and motivate you. They are also the things that God wants you to pursue, because they are aligned with His purposes for your life. King David said, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). To find your fire, you need to follow your passions and trust that God will fulfill them in His time and way.

  1. Serve others. Finding your fire is not just about yourself, but also about others. God has called you to use your gifts and passions to serve Him by serving others. Jesus said, "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant" (Mark 10:43). When you serve others with love and humility, you will experience the joy and satisfaction of making a difference in their lives. You will also discover more of your fire as you see how God uses you to touch others.

Finding your fire is not a one-time event, but a lifelong journey of seeking God, discovering your gifts, following your passions and serving others. As you do these things, you will find more of your fire and live a more fulfilling life. Remember what Jesus said: "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). That's the kind of life God wants for you - a life full of fire!

Hello, brothers in Christ! Welcome to another edition of our devotional blog for men.

Today, we are going to reflect on a verse from 1 Corinthians 13:11, which says:

"When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things."

What does this verse mean for us as men of God? How can we apply it to our lives today?

First of all, this verse reminds us that we are called to grow in maturity and wisdom as followers of Jesus. We are not supposed to remain stagnant or complacent in our faith, but to seek God's will and purpose for our lives. We are not supposed to cling to the things that used to satisfy us or comfort us when we were young, but to pursue the things that please God and edify others.

Secondly, this verse challenges us to examine our speech, our thoughts, and our reasoning. Are they aligned with God's word and truth? Are they helpful and constructive for ourselves and others? Are they honoring and glorifying to God? Or are they childish, foolish, and selfish? Do we speak words of life or words of death? Do we think thoughts of faith or thoughts of fear? Do we reason with wisdom or with folly?

Thirdly, this verse encourages us to put away the childish things that hinder our growth and relationship with God. These could be habits, attitudes, behaviors, or even relationships that are not healthy or beneficial for us. These could be things that distract us from God's presence and plan for us. These could be things that tempt us to sin or compromise our integrity. These could be things that keep us from fulfilling our potential and destiny in Christ.

Brothers, let us heed the apostle Paul's words and strive to become mature men of God. Let us speak, think, and reason like men who love God and love others. Let us put away the childish things that hold us back and embrace the godly things that propel us forward. Let us grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen!
