When it comes to the teachings of the Bible, doctrine, and duty go hand and hand. What we really believe determines how we behave. Understanding the Bible’s teaching is not enough. We have to translate our learning into living and show by our daily lives that we trust God’s word. To be Christian means that you are devoted to God. Everything you have and are is dedicated to worship and service to God. Anything less than 100% is short of God’s glory and is sin. When we were lost we were dedicated to the world’s system but now that we are found there must be changed! Change! George Bernard Shaw said, “progress is impossible without change; and those who cannot change their mind cannot change anything.” If you don’t learn anything else today, understand, if we want to be Holy in our living, we must train our minds in holy thinking.

You Must Give Yahweh Your Body. Before we accepted Yahshua, we gave our bodies to the world and its pleasures. Now that we gave our life to Yahweh our body is also his. 1Cor. 6:19-20 teaches us that the Holy Spirit dwells within us, we are the temple.

Present your bodies as a living sacrifice. There are two “living sacrifices” in the Bible that help us see our point.

Ok, stick with me. First,  Isaac was willing to lie on the altar and would have died for it was God’s will. He was replaced with a ram but he still died, that is to self. When he got up he was a living sacrifice. Of Course The other is Yahshua  (Jesus).

Giving God your body means you can no longer...

  • Do whatever you want to do
  • Do whatever your friends and family want you to do
  • Live for material things.

Now we have to understand, this is a constant dedication. You can’t give your life to him today, then take it back and do what you want tomorrow.

Ok so you might be asking, Why do we present our bodies to God? Well for one The sacrifice of the body is pleasing and acceptable to him. And second, the sacrifice of the body is the believer’s spiritual act of worship.

Give Yahweh your mind. (Romans 12:2a). To understand giving him your mind, you first have to understand the difference between being transformed and Conformed. Conform means to fashion in the outward form or outward appearance. Man changes his clothing based on what’s in style, and what everyone else is wearing. A conformist is afraid to be different and feels the need to be like everyone else.

Conforming can lead us to do what we know is wrong. Why and how? Conforming to the world and its system separates us from Yahweh 1Jn 2:15-17. Ok, so how does that happen? Well...

  • By giving in to the lust of the flesh (immorality)
  • By giving in to the lust of the eyes (materialism)
  • By giving in to the pride of life (arrogance)

Now peep this because this gets interesting. When Adam was tempted in the garden, his original sin was linked to the 3 areas we just brought up. When Yahshua was tempted in the desert, The three temptations targeted the three areas above

Now we have to understand as Christians, we are not to…

  • Follow the fellowship of the world. (James 4:4)
  • Follow the fashion, the evil desires, and the lust of the world. (1Jn 2:15-16)
  • Follow the false security of the world (Mt. 24:38-39)

Now let's talk about being Transformed- a Christian must be transformed and changed inwardly. His real self, his very nature, essence, personality, inner being, his inner man- must be changed. But what are The sources of the renewal of the mind?

  • The Holy Spirit- teaches guides and allows you to see the truth.
  • The Bible
  • The teaching of the church
  • Fellowship with other Christians
  • The presence of Jesus

Understand this, a transformer is a leader, not a follower. A conformer is a follower. So what keeps many Christians from “transforming butterflies”? No growth. And that's because there is now bible study, no fellowship with other Christians and no fellowship with Yahweh.,

Now ask yourself, can a mind be renewed or transformed on a starvation diet? No! If you don’t eat you don’t grow. When you hear that you are thinking about physical growth.  But this also applies to mental and spiritual growth. You have to study scripture daily and grow daily. Can a mind be renewed on a junk food diet? Many of us spend more time watching things of the devil than reading things of Yahweh.

You have to give Yah your will ( Romans 12:2b). Your mind controls your body, but who will control your mind?
