Is Super Bowl LII Loss the End of Patriots and Tom Brady's Dynasty?

hi-res-6a4eaf7351f69a02e34e95b72ad2786a_crop_north.jpg?h=533&w=800&q=70&crop_x=center&crop_y=top

Every Super Bowl stumble comes with a heartache that lasts deep into the offseason. Success hasn't made the New England Patriots immune to that darkness. A long, cold winter awaits now after a crushing 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII on Sunday.

In many ways it'll feel the same as the Patriots' two other Super Bowl losses since 2001, when their dominance began. And in one significant way it won't because there's another feeling settling over the Patriots.

That feeling is uncertainty, and there's enough of it to put their dynasty in question.

The second-guessing and agonizing over missed plays that happens immediately is familiar. This time the Patriots will wonder how much of a difference the four points lost by kicker Stephen Gostkowski on a missed field goal and a shanked extra point would have made.

Heat a wok or saucepan at medium to high heat.
In a small bowl mix together the spices and salt and pepper.
When the wok/pan is nice and hot add in broccolini, carrot, and mushrooms and a splash of water, cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetable become tender.
Reduce heat to medium and add in the kale and cherry tomatoes and spice mix, continue sauteing until the kale is wilted, add little splashes of water as needed so the vegetables do not stick or burn.
Squeeze in the juice of half a lime and pour in the egg whites. Allow the egg whites to sit for a minute until they begin to cook through, then scramble them together with the vegetables. (If you are using tofu just scramble with the vegetables until the tofu begins to brown slightly or heats through).
Once the eggs are cooked fully, transfer the mixture to a bowl with quinoa and top the quinoa.
Top the vegetable mixture with sliced avocado and sprouts, and garnish with another squeeze of lime and some additional salt and pepper if preferred.
Enjoy!

nomis-heart-headed-500.jpg

"I've got one lyric pointed at your head for start, the other one is pointed at your heart". The illustrious words of the late Hip-Hop icon, Guru birthed the concept behind, "Heart Headed". How do we react to today's social climate, political issues, or even our day to day struggles? Do we respond with a honest analysis of the situation, or do we lead with heartfelt compassion? Nomis reminds us that the answer is, both. Our heads administer the hard truths we seek in solving what ails us, while our hearts provide the empathy needed to address the aches and pains of a fallen world. "Heart Headed" begins with a somber tone reflecting those pains, but ends with an idealistic pronouncement of the perfect marriage of Heart & Mind. Read More Here

Southern-Lights_-Overexposed.jpg

The first track on the album, “Overexposed” (feat. Sean C. Johnson) starts with two masked men jumping a man at his house.  Alex Faith starts with a really cool verse that is highly focused on the vocals with a bit of bass and treble.  A man, Eric Young, is seen trying to run and stop the attack as one of the men puts a gun to the head of the victim, who is his brother.  As the music slows and softens to singing a flashback is shown to explain the attack.  The verse following with Dre Murray rapping isn’t as good as Alex Faith’s start, but it’s still well done.  Both rappers are talking about different problems and how Jesus is the only solution.  A gunshot is heard as the song ends.  It’s a great track to start, and the album is showing potential. Read More Here

President Donald Trump‘s racist resentment toward Black and brown people was undeniable during his first State of the Union address Tuesday night. Sandwiched between spouting his familiar refrain of “America first” and pretending to reach across the aisle to Democrats, Trump launched a steady barrage of subliminal darts aimed at people with a darker skin hue.

In just about an hour and 20 minutes, Trump managed to take a pot shot at Colin Kaepernick and all of the people who protest racism and police brutality, falsely take credit for low Black unemployment, painted a picture of immigrants with a very broad, Black brush, scapegoated Black folks for the opioid crisis, continued to embellish about the Black homeownership rate and slighted the only Black and brown special guests. Read More Here

Ruslan – Indie Jones II (Mixtape)

Straight away on “Time To Go” Ruslan is in with a flow. Topically, he’s talking about how he shoots it straight and tells it like it is. “He didn’t come all this way to play with you” and he doesn’t just tell you, he shows you. The writing is full of wordplay… he rattles off some double entendre lines using the word “back” that are bonkers. I won’t quote it here because I don’t want to ruin it. The beat is unorthodox, and there’s a chipmunk soul sample that’s very prevalent throughout. It’s dope. Read More Here

The deal that shipped Griffin east on Monday evidently occurred while James was napping. But the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar on Tuesday weighed in on the arguably stunning developments while alluding to the fact Griffin had just signed a five-year, $171 million last summer.

“He spent his last nine years there,” James said, via Cleveland.com. “He signed a multi-year deal there this summer, so that’s unfortunate. But that’s the business side of it. It’s both sides. It works both sides, though. It’s the business.” Read More Here

There's not much reason to shop for CDs when you download or stream all your music, and big-box stores are reacting to that decline. Billboard sources have learned that Best Buy has told suppliers that it will remove music CDs from its stores as of July 1st. The chain was only making $40 million per year from the plastic discs -- a drop in the bucket for a retailer this size. Vinyl aficionados will still find records on sale for the next 2 years, according to the insiders, although they may have to be sold next to the turntables themselves. Read More Here

Facebook is violating a Seattle law that requires the company to reveal who pays for political advertising on its influential social media platform, the city's elections watchdog said on Monday.

The rebuke comes after the internet giant had promised federal authorities that it would be more forthcoming about the money behind political ads.

Wayne Barnett, executive director of the Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission, said in a statement that Facebook had failed to give adequate detail about its advertisers' spending in the 2017 city elections.
