Kawhi Leonard will be part of a superteam in Los Angeles — it just won’t be with the Lakers.
The reigning NBA Finals MVP informed his other suitors that he will sign with the Clippers, according to an ESPN report early Saturday morning. The Lakers and the Raptors, with whom Leonard won a title with this season, were also in the running for his services. He could have joined LeBron James and Anthony Davis with the Lakers.
The LA Clippers pulled off the biggest moves of the NBA summer as they have completely remade their roster with a couple of true superstar players.
Kawhi Leonard has decided to sign with the Clippers, word emerged on Friday via Yahoo’s Chris Haynes. At the same time ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Clippers acquired Paul George in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
