Jam The Hype Jam the Hype
“J. Crum is first and foremost a man of God. I’m a husband and a Christian hip-hop artist.”
Ohama, Nebraska artist J. Crum started listening to Christian hip-hop in his youth back in the 90s. Artists and groups such as Gospel Gangstaz, The Cross Movement, and T-Bone were among his favorites back then.
He wrote his first rap at age fifteen. Due to a severe illness, J. Crum missed a lot of school and had a teacher visit his home to help him keep from falling behind. “I got ahead, so when I went back to school, I had three study halls. I was like, ‘I need to figure out what to do with my time.'” Being a huge fan of hip-hop, he had the idea of writing his own raps. “I downloaded a bunch of beats off of Soundclick back in the day and started writing to beats in my study halls.” He then received help from a member of his church to record his raps for the first time.
Last month, J. Crum released a new album, VIGILANTES VOL. 1, the first out of three planned editions. The message acts as a sequel to his January album, Villians. Villians discussed what comes next after a person living in a villainous manner decides to follow Christ.
A desperate Blazers team made a desperate gamble that might help keep them afloat
Carmelo Anthony is one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the NBA, but he hasn't played a game since November of 2018. That's about to change because the injury-riddled Portland Trail Blazers are reportedly expected to sign the 35-year-old veteran to a non-guaranteed deal.
In the broadest possible terms, Anthony is a perfect fit for the Blazers. Of the nine players who have spent at least 100 minutes on the floor for them this season, only three have played the majority of their careers at forward. Two of them, Mario Hezonja and Anthony Tolliver, are playing out minimum contracts. The third, Skal Labissierre, is in the final season of a rookie deal, and has only played center this season. Even if you generously classify Labissiere, Pau Gasol and Zach Collins as forwards rather than centers, Portland is paying less for all of their forwards combined this season than the New York Knicks are paying Julius Randle alone.

THINGS we found along the way
Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation have released first look images and announced the cast of the Netflix original series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, based on Universal’s multi-billion dollar franchise.

Teenager Tony Toretto follows in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization called SH1FT3R bent on world domination. Hedrick (DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender) and Haaland (DreamWorks All Hail King Julien) serve as executive producers and showrunners. The series is also executive produced by Diesel, Moritz and Morgan, who have all served as producers on the live-action Fast & Furious film franchise.
