Thi’sl's  7th album is entitled Against All Odds. To accompany the record, Thi’sl also released a self-published book with the same name. Both the book and the album take an autobiographical approach. Thi’sl really stretched his storytelling muscles on this record. Throughout his career he hasn’t been known for strong conceptual records. Against All Odds is just that; a conceptual record. Thi’sl tells his story on this record. He uses the intro, “Guilty Until Proven Innocent,” to lay the groundwork. There is a bit of foreshadowing used here and then he goes back to provide context.

At the corner of street life and honest living stands Thi’sl (thizil): an ex-hustler turned urban missionary who brings the Truth to the hood and urban struggles to the Church.  A look into his past reveals the authenticity of his gritty, in your face lyrics and God’s grace, which spared his life and gave him a clean slate to begin anew.

Madea’s days of crude language and criminal offenses are coming to an end.

Tyler Perry, 49, revealed Monday that he’s killing off the iconic character next year, nearly two decades after everyone was introduced to the gun-toting grandmother.

“This is it,” Perry told host Bevy Smith Monday on her SiriusXM radio show, “Bevelations.” “It’s time for me to kill that old (expletive). I’m tired!”

Don’t fret. Madea will make a final cameo in a farewell stage tour and in 2019’s “Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral,” but based on Perry’s admission, it may be the profane matriarch being laid to rest.

Derrick Rose stunned the basketball world Wednesday night, hanging a career-high 50 points on the visiting Utah Jazz, and leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 128-125 win.

An emotional D-Rose talked afterwards about how hard he had to grind just to get back on the court after so many injury-related setbacks throughout the years.

Thr3e.jpg

‘Thr3e’ is the third album in the Lord Fire series by Scribbling Idiot member Theory Hazit. Entirely produced by Dert, this album is full of storytelling, verbal action and dope beats. Ch3ck it out!

Theory Hazit was born and raised in Winchester Kentucky with the support of his granny, an aunt and two uncles. He always had a vivid imagination, enjoying cartoons more than music videos. He grew up with a love for New Edition, Kid ‘n’ Play, and dancing like Big Daddy Kane.

The opening track, “Thr3e Intro” is a banger, which finds Theory exploring the number three in biblical and non-biblical contexts. “Old Derty Hazit” is another track that finds Theory referencing a lot of different topics with a sick flow over a banging Dert beat.

Timothy Brindle “The Restoration”

hqdefault.jpg?width=400

The Restoration: The All-Sufficiency of Christ in the Gospel of Grace to Restore Ruined Sinners to Himself for their Joy and His Glory. The title of this album speaks for itself as to what you can expect to hear as a listener. The title alone can preach without even playing a single track; but, as you do listen, can expect to hear the story of Timothy’s restoration in all areas of his life, which makes this a very personal album. With that, you also get a heavy dose of the gospel and the all-sufficiency of Christ which serve as the remedy for fallen sinners to be restored.

The Restoration is Timothy Brindle’s life put to music, and it clearly shows as you listen to this project and hear the passion with which he delivers his verbal soliloquies. This is immediately evident in the opening track “The All-Sufficiency of Christ” where he details the working of Jesus Christ in his life to cover him and empower him to overcome his sins. It’s here that we see that Timothy hasn’t lost a step, and makes it hard to believe that he’s been away from music for half a decade. Outside of a misstep here & there, this is the Timothy Brindle that we get for the entirety of the album. On top of this, there is a lot to like for the hip-hop purist, such as the addition of scratching and snippets from previous Lamp Mode recordings (like shai linne’s “Christ Crucified” on “I’m the Problem”). The instrumentation on this project makes for a very somber & introspective listen, which is both good & bad. It’s good because there is a lot for the listener to meditate on, but it can also make it feel very long & drawn out. One highlight to mention, while not the best track on the album, is “The Completeness Cypha” which is the first track from Lamp Mode to feature the entire roster on a single track. What’s more, this track serves as a concise summary of the entirety of the restoration we can receive because of the completeness of Christ’s work. Read More Here

Christon Gray Clear The Heir

41QoafVwS%2BL._SS500.jpgBest Song On The Record:
"Gray" has so much depth lyrically, it touches on recent social issues and calls the church to more action. It is an Ohio all-star show featuring Gray's brother Taelor and Tragic Hero. It isn't a song that can be listened to once. It is a song to sit with. The chorus is an exhortation to the listener, "There's a Heaven and we all wanna go/Does anybody wanna fall on the sword/Take my hand, I just want you to know/Healing begins when you call on the Lord."

Christon Gray is a rule breaker. He does not fit neatly within one genre. Rather, he blends them together, making something that can only be his own. His journey over the years has been the tale of the underdog. This is an artist that should not be counted out or brushed aside. Clear The Heir is an album that will be revisited years from and considered groundbreaking in its own right.

THINGS we found along the way

Sunday’s Week 9 NFL action started with a boom. The early slate saw the Carolina Panthers mark their territory in a win over a hapless Buccaneers squad. Meanwhile, over in the AFC, John Harbaugh’s seat in Baltimore got a tad hotter following a loss to the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers. As the action turned to the late-afternoon slate, the New Orleans Saints made a huge statement at home against the then-undefeated Los Angeles Rams. And in New England, Tom Brady and Co. did big time work against the Aaron Rodgers-led Packers. These are among the top takeaways from Sunday’s Week 9 NFL action. Michael Thomas is just absurd This third-year Saints receiver entered Week 9 having caught 58-of-64 targets for 669 yards and four touchdowns in seven games. His 90.6 percent catch rate is among the most ridiculous individual stats we’ve seen in recent NFL history. Taking on an undefeated Rams team and struggling cornerback Marcus Peters, the hope was that Thomas might be able to continue his stellar play. He didn’t

LeBron James made a strong statement in support of Luke Walton and the Lakers’ coaching staff following Saturday night’s win in Portland, according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. Walton started to feel some heat after a 2-5 start and was “admonished” this week by team president Magic Johnson. The team has responded with two straight wins, and James left no doubt that he is in Walton’s corner, as he told reporters after the game: “Listen, coaching staff put us in a position to win, and it’s up to us to go up and execute. Luke can care less about what’s going on outside. We could as well. I’m the last person to ask about scrutiny or anything of that nature. So none of that stuff matters to me. The only thing that matters to me is what goes on inside this locker room, both home and away.” James has clashed with coaches in both Miami and Cleveland and reportedly played a large role in getting David Blatt fired a year after he took the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals. James’ endorsement of Walton should carry a lot of we
