Amen! Danny Amendola Helps Tom Brady Lead Patriots to AFC Championship Win… Brady is the Michael Jordan of the NFL

121717patsnl18.jpg?itok=Hd8cOdX_

Danny Amendola had himself one heck of a second half against the Jaguars after Rob Gronkowski went out, and put the Patriots up by four with less than three minutes to go.

Tom Brady found Amendola on second-and-goal from the Jacksonville four-yard line, giving them the 24-20 lead with 2:48 to go

Eagles Soar Past Vikings, Setting Up Super Bowl LII vs. Patriots

A dance party broke out on the sideline.

Eagles players bobbed up and down to the beat of a Meek Mill rap, waving white towels and clutching their helmets, pumping their fists in the air. This scene – just 42 days after star quarterback Carson Wentz tore his anterior cruciate ligament in a Week 14 game – seemed improbable.

Yet here it was. The NFC Championship Game still had 14 minutes and 10 seconds left, but in reality, it was over

Trump’s First Year in Office Has Been Filled With Drama and Controversy

A bleak description of “American carnage.” A forceful rollback of his predecessor’s achievements. A blatant falsehood from the White House podium.

And that was just the first 24 hours.

In his first year in office, Donald Trump proved to be a singular figure, casting aside norms and traditions, fighting with Republicans and Democrats alike and changing how the nation and the presidency are viewed at home and abroad.

Seemingly each day spawned several can-you-believe-it headlines that would have defined a previous president’s term. But in the hyper-accelerated Trump news cycle, many were forgotten by the next morning.

Appropriate for a former reality TV star, Trump’s first year was can’t-miss drama, full of unforgettable characters, surprise casting changes and innumerable plot twists. It came against the backdrop of a deeply polarized nation, a looming nuclear threat, whispers about the president’s fitness for office and, for good measure, the shadow of the Russia investigation.

The reviews weren’t kind. Trump’s first-year approval rating stood at 39 percent, the lowest of any president. But viewers couldn’t look away. Read More Here

developing-self-discipline-info-doodle.jpg

At the heart of any successful person, is self-discipline. Whether it’s success in their personal lives or their professional lives, it all starts with an inherent ability for self-control through discipline. Your thoughts. Your emotions. Your behaviors. And your habits. All of them must be kept in check.

If you want to achieve those lofty goals you set, understanding how to discipline yourself is a key ingredient to the success recipe. But self-discipline isn’t something new. In fact, self-discipline has been a topic of discussion for thousands of years, and it’s been championed by some of the world’s most successful people.

Author and pastor Richard Foster identifies 12 crucial spiritual disciplines. These are further organized into sections: inward, outward, and corporate practices.

It’s ironic that as I crossed the Walt Whitman Bridge to attend an urban apologetics conference in Philadelphia I encountered the very religious pluralism that makes conferences such as these a necessity. As my weathered SUV pulled up to the stoplight, I could see the Marcus Garvey–inspired Pan-African flag pirouetting in the wind, and I could hear the amplified, yet muffled, sound of a man’s raspy voice through a bullhorn. He, along with a group of other young men and women, stood on the median with their faces contorted like clenched fists yelling, “Black Power, Black Power,” while others bellowed, “the black man is God!” at passing pedestrians and vehicles. Read More Here

#throwbackthursday The Oracle's Exclusive interview With Sivion, Part 1 @SivionDS5 @illect @sohhpr

7936056252?profile=original

Malachi: I remember listening to your music years ago when you were a part of Phat KATS so I know you have been in the game for years. What are some things you know now that you wish you knew when you first started recording?

Sivion: I wish I knew how wack I was back then.  HAHA.  Just kidding.  But seriously, when you're an up and coming artist, you always think your junk is doper than it really is.  And it's good "for you" because you're still growing and improving.  So every milestone is like your best ever.  But that doesn't mean you're ready for a record deal or ready to hold your own as an artist. I think "patience" is probably what I wish I had more of back then.  Toward the latter years when Phat KATS was nearing the end of our run, that's when we really got to the point where we could hold our own as a legit hip hop group.  But unfortunately, that was the time when life started to change and grown-up responsibilities took the place of Wushu's passion for keeping artistry as a priority.  No hard feelings though. He is an amazing husband, father, and Christ-centered head of his household.  And I love him to death.  Phat KATS for ever, bro!

Classic Album Review: The Battery "Two"(Featuring Jurny Big & Peace 586) Album Review By Malachi #throwbackthursday

the-battery-two.jpg

Jurny Big and his cousin Dax formed the legendary group, LPG. They are also the founders of The Tunnel Rats. Other OG members of the Tunnel Rats were the group Future Shock (Ajax Starglider, Soujourn, redbonz , and Trey Qel Drama), Raphi aka Shames Worthy, ZaneOne aka Zane, New Breed (Elsie and Macho), Propaganda, and  of course Peace 586.

Peace 586 has been producing since the 80’s. Yup that's before some of you were born. The “586” part of his name means May,1986, the month and the year he became a Christian. By the time we hit midway into the 90’s, Peace became a member of the Tunnel Rats crew and produced the classic album The Earthworm for LPG. He also started working on his own solo joints The Risen Son (1996), 586 (2001),  Generations (2003), and heAr (2009). In 2010 he dropped aBle, which  featured  "The Battery" and "Children". These songs were a prelude to the first album with Peace 586 on the boards and Jurny Big on the mic, AKA The Battery. The first album, called “One” dropped on September 27, 2011. And now here we are with a fresh new heat rock, “Two,” released on July 2, 2013.

Character-destiny.png

Could creating your character be likened to an artist creating a sculpture? I believe that character is not something that just happens by itself any more than a chisel can create a work of art without the hand of an artist guiding it. In both instances, a conscious decision for a specific outcome has been made. A conscious process is at work. Character is the result of hundreds and hundreds of choices you make that gradually turn who you are, at any given moment, into who you want to be. If that decision-making process is not present, you will still be somebody. You will still be alive but might have a personality rather than a character. Read More Here

President Donald Trump says he wants immigrants to come to the U.S. from “everywhere,” despite having said behind closed doors that he’d prefer more immigrants from countries like Norway and not Africa.

Trump was responding to questions as he met with Kazakhstan’s president Nursultan Nazarbayev (nur-sul-TAHN’ nah-sar-BAH’-yev) at the White House on Tuesday.

Trump said: “We want ’em to come in from everywhere, everywhere.”

Though his voice was silenced nearly 50 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message of nonviolence still resonates and inspires.

Decades ago, the famed civil rights leader – also regarded as one of America’s greatest orators – recalled driving one night from Atlanta to Chattanooga, Tennessee, with his brother A.D. at the wheel. Most cars in the opposite lane failed to dim their lights, and his brother angrily vowed to keep his bright lights on in retaliation.

“And I looked at him right quick and said: ‘Oh no, don’t do that. There’d be too much light on this highway, and it will end up in mutual destruction for all. Somebody got to have some sense on this highway,'” King told the congregation at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama during a 1957 sermon.Read More Here

There's nothing like reading and what it can do for you. But the truth is, we don't read like we used to. One of the main reasons for this is the growth of technology. However, what most people don’t know is there is so much to benefit from reading.

When was the last time you read a book, or a substantial magazine article? Do your daily reading habits center around tweets, Facebook updates, or the directions on your instant oatmeal packet? If you're one of countless people who don't make a habit of reading regularly, you might be missing out: reading has a significant number of benefits, and just a few benefits of reading are listed.  Read More Here

THINGS we found along the way

Netflix is now worth more than $100 billion, Uber Eats acquires Ando and Rupert Murdoch wants Facebook to pay for the news. All this on Crunch Report. Read More

When Netflix began streaming directly to customers’ screens in 2007 (yes, it really was that long ago), it fundamentally changed the way we watch movies. Where once you had to drive down to the local Blockbuster or wait for discs to arrive in the mail — to say nothing of actually purchasing hard copies of films in various formats — Netflix unfurled a wealth of shows and movies to watch right from your couch, all for a meager monthly fee.

It took a few years, but eventually, Netflix realized producing and commissioning exclusive content could prove to be not only lucrative, but also necessary to dominate the streaming marketplace. As you might expect, Netflix wasn’t satisfied with just creating TV series, so it began to produce movies as well. By now, the list or originals is extensive, and it can be hard to judge what’s worth watching, so we’ve picked out the best Netflix original movies for your perusal (and potential enjoyment). Chill on, Netflixers.

Beasts of No Nation

Cary Fukunaga (True Detective) wrote, co-produced, and directed Beasts of No Nation, a drama based upon the 2005 novel of the same name by Uzodinma Iweala. The film follows Agu (Abraham Attah), a young West African boy who finds himself unwillingly conscripted into an army of children under the fist of a ruthless Commandant (Idris Elba). Beasts pulls no punches, depicting horrific scenes of violence unflinchingly, and does an incredible job of making us empathize with Agu — even as he and his contemporaries are murdering their own countrymen in cold blood.

Elba conveys a sense of quiet intensity, channeling religious fanaticism and calm determination in equal measure for a masterful performance (one which earned him a SAG award), and Fukunaga’s sharply contrasting direction effectively mirror’s Agu’s descent into militaristic hedonism. Beasts qualifies as Netflix’s first big feature hit, forecasting many more to come.
