NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on Saturday announced the launch of the Basketball Africa League, a 12-team competition consisting of teams across the continent.
The league, which will begin play in 2020, will feature squads from Angola, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia. Qualification tournaments will be held later this year to determine the inaugural participants. Read More Here

Scottie Pippen doesn't believe LeBron James compares to Michael Jordan.
Speaking with ESPN's First Take ahead of the NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte, Pippen chimed into the debate on whether James or Jordan was the greatest NBA player of all-time. Pippen took the debate one step further by adding that James didn't even compare to Lakers great Kobe Bryant.
"When I look at LeBron, he's not what Michael was as a player. He's not even what Kobe Bryant was as a player," Pippen said. "So when you talk about trying to compare Michael's instinct, his ability to take over games, his ability to want to have the last shot, LeBron doesn't have that gene. That's not in him."

The duo from Chicago have been with Humble Beast for a few years now and they already have a release on the label. Alert312 (fka Alert) have been grinding long before that. Known mainly as more of a band that makes music than a traditional hip-hop group, they dropped down to just two members for their new release Of Vice and Virtue.
Whether you’re a long time fan or a new comer to the group, their new album gives a good picture of what the group is about. You will be challenged, enlightened, encouraged and entertained.
Parents of students at a Long Island, N.Y., middle school are outraged after teachers allegedly displayed an “offensive” noose photo in a classroom last week, so much so that the school district is now investigating.
The photo, embedded as part of a collage inside a Roosevelt Middle School classroom, reportedly featured two nooses labeled “back to school necklaces,” according to the New York Daily News. Citing a statement from the Hempstead town supervisor, the newspaper reported that nearly half (45 percent) of the school’s students are Black, while 55 percent are Hispanic or Latino.

“I was very upset about it,” Yvette Hudson of Roosevelt, whose kids are former students of the school, told News 12 Long Island. “I mean, if they feel that way then they’re in the wrong school district.”
Savitri Lekhram of Hempstead was a bit more forgiving and thought maybe the photo was a “joke.”
