Jam The Hype Jam the Hype

“Brandon is a kid from Michigan who fell in love with hip-hop and loves diversity.”

Brandon Clahassey, better known as Beacon Light, released a new EP, Influential, this month. “The concept is realizing that everyone has influence, no matter how big or small.” He notes that some of the most influential people to many people are not famous, but often a family member, mentor, or coach.

The EP began with a few songs rather than a thought-out concept. “I listen to beats and listen to different stuff and then write songs that I want to.” After preparing some songs, he listened to them as a whole and found a theme within them. “Influential happened to be, in my opinion, one of the most high-energy songs on the record, so I [decided] that’s where we’re going.”

Influential’s cover art has a mix of inspirations. “We liked the idea of the clouds and the sky of being influenced by God’s art.” The image includes Beacon Light sitting in an art gallery with a piece behind him, showing a photo of him as a baby with a collage of prominent hip-hop artists.

“All of these people have influenced me, but now I’m also here making an impact within the genre.”

ugar Water - "Mahogany Jones"

0008061204_10.jpg?profile=RESIZE_710x

This album is like no other! Between the beats, metaphors; entwined with strings and horns this album is off the charts! With track such as Gold that will remind you of worth and Home which reminds us that we will never truly fit I to a place that was not made for us! These are just a few of the eye openers that touched me and broaden my mindset! Mahogany Jones is known for battle rap style on 106 and Park. Which by the way she won not one but 4 times. The only female to do so. With God in her heart she applied that skill to uplift and encourage His people! I  admonish you to listen for yourself. Click the play button below. THINGS we found along the way

It was supposed to be a massive accomplishment for HBO and the Game of Thronesteam, but season 8 was instead a huge disappointment. For the hundredth time, it wasn’t the final destination that bummed everyone out, but the road that got us there. Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff were heavily criticized for the final six episodes, and the finale is the worst-rated episode in Thrones history.

The scripts were often rushed, forgoing logic and common sense, with D&D choosing to subvert expectations rather than deliver the final season fans wanted. Fans did not forgive them, and they were quick to Google bomb the showrunners— just search for bad writers and see what happens. Others started a petition asking for HBO to remake the final season with better writers, with more than 1,750,000 people having signed it since May.

Spotify surprised everyone on Monday with an unexpected quarterly profit that accompanied some uncharacteristically bullish remarks from the company about its competitive landscape, with Spotify insisting that the company's growth rate and engagement have surpassed those of its closest rival: Apple Music.

In terms of hard numbers, the Swedish streamer said it had added some 26 million paying subscribers over the past year to push that number to 113 million at the end of September. It's hard to put that number in perspective, though, since Apple's most recent number of Apple Music paying subscribers was 60 million, which the company disclosed in June.

You should know by now that cord-cutting is a huge headache for cable companies. But with AT&T's diversified lineup of television services across U-verse TV, DirecTV, DirecTV Now, and AT&T TV Now, the company would seem to be well-equipped to deal with those who want to ditch traditional TV subscriptions in favor of streaming.

Apparently, that's not the case, as AT&T's latest quarterly report reveals that the company has lost over 1.3 million pay-TV subscribers in the third quarter alone. The losses are huge, and none of the company's services have been immune to the exodus.
