Celtics Defeat Suns 130-120, Devin Booker Becomes 6th NBA Player to Reach 70 Points
Devin Booker scored 70 points, becoming the sixth different player in NBA history to reach that total, but the Boston Celtics got 34 points from Isaiah Thomas and outlasted the Phoenix Suns 130-120 on Friday night.
Booker joined Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, David Thompson, David Robinson and Elgin Baylor as the NBA’s 70-point scorers. Baylor also held the previous record against the Celtics with 64 points in Minneapolis for the Lakers on Nov. 8, 1959.
Just 20 years old, Booker scored 51 after halftime.
The win was Boston’s third straight, and avenged its buzzer-beater loss in Phoenix earlier this month.
The rematch was dominated early by the Celtics as they hit eight 3-pointers during a 37-point second quarter to grow their lead as high as 26 points.
Chamberlain had six 70-point games and his 62 points on Jan. 14, 1962, had been the most in Boston.. Read More Here
Cleveland Cavaliers Win 112-105 Over Charlotte Hornets
LeBron James had 32 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds, and the Cleveland Cavaliers bounced back from their worst defensive outing of the season with a 112-105 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.
Kyrie Irving added 26 points and Kevin Love had 15 points and 12 rebounds as the Cavaliers snapped Charlotte’s three-game winning streak and remained atop the Eastern Conference standings.
Charlotte was led by Kemba Walker, who had 28 points on five 3-pointers. Cody Zeller added 15 points and 11 rebounds.

How They Got Here
Gonzaga had to survive a physical foul fest against West Virginia in the Sweet 16. The Mountaineers might just be the most difficult team to play in the country because the experience of facing that press is unlike anything else you see all season. The Zags showed some toughness in surviving 40 minutes of whistles and pressure.
Chris Mack is in the Elite Eight for the first time and proving himself as one of the game’s best coaches. He has his team here despite losing his starting point guard Edmond Sumner late in the season. The Musketeers can also thank the hot shooting of Trevon Bluiett, who has averaged 25 points per game in upset wins over Maryland, Florida State and Arizona.
Individual Battle to Watch: Trevon Bluiett vs. Jordan Mathews
The outside shooting for both wings has been key to their team’s tourney runs. Bluiett has made 11 of 23 threes in the tournament and Mathews has made 9 of 25, including what turned out to be the game-winner against West Virginia. If he gets the Bluiett assignment, his defense will be key against Xavier. Gonzaga could probably win without Mathews scoring the ball, but I'm not sure Xavier can win without Bluiett staying hot.
Upset Potential: Medium
It would be silly to count out Xavier at this point. Gonzaga has more talent, but so did Florida State and Arizona. Mack’s zone defenses appear to be an upset creator in the NCAA tournament, and Bluiett is one of the hottest shooters in this tournament. But the Zags have more experience than anyone Xavier has faced thus far and should be more composed against Mack’s switching defenses.

Jordan Peele’s Get Out will make you cringe, scream, and feel incredibly uncomfortable—and apparently, people can’t get enough of it.
Since it’s release on February 24, the socially conscious horror flick has raked in over $117 million, as of March 15. This makes Peele the first African American writer and director to earn over $100 million at the box office with a debut feature film. To top it off, Peele reached this benchmark in just 16 days.
I had a chance to see Get Out earlier this week, and I must say, the film lives up to the hype. The movie puts a dark, satirical twist on racism and makes a number of historical references like, for an example, a 21st century slave auction. Get Out also adds a dose of humor and originality, all while operating on an impressively meager $4.5 million budget.
REFLECTIONS ON ‘GET OUT': THE SHOCK OF RACIAL TRUTH SERVED UP TILL IT HURTS
I am probably the last person in the country to see “Get Out,” except for the 50 or so other people in the theater with me last night.
My lame excuse: I’m scared of horror movies.
But there are so many notable things about this film that I’m compelled to point them out, even though I’m late. The movie sticks with me, and is going to stick in the culture, too.
Consider this: A thriller that makes us think about race because it places the viewer at the center of a racial conspiracy. That’s new.
“Get Out” grabs us with the shock of truth, cloaked in the thriller genre. The audience recognizes the danger for our hero, Chris, before he feels it himself, and roots for him to, well, get woke.
Early in his weekend visit to the wealthy parents of his white girlfriend, we know there’s something terribly wrong about the black folks that work for them. Chris’ (Daniel Kaluuya) wide eyes are wary from experience, but we want to warn him — “It’s way worse than you think!”
The Dad (Bradley Whitford) can be pegged as a racist right off, and the menacing son Jeremy (Caleb Landry Jones) might have stepped out of the plantation dinner scene of Tarantino’s “Django Unchained.” But girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams) and the open-minded Mom (Catherine Keener) reveal themselves more slowly.

Colleges across the U.S. continue to be plagued with fliers promoting racism.
On Monday, multiple fliers posted by members of Vanguard America ― a white supremacy group ― were found on the University of Maryland Campus.
“A notice to all white Americans,” one flier read. “It is your civic duty to report any and all illegal aliens. …They are criminals. America is a white nation.”
“Carry the torch of your people,” another said. It was the third time in three months that fliers were found on the campus, according to The Washington Post.
Similar fliers were found the same day at George Washington University in D.C.
“I cannot believe this is taking place today in the U.S., let alone on a college campus in a liberal city like D.C.,” Corey Garlick, a law student, told The Washington Post.

The Apple store was taken offline early on Tuesday morning, as we all expected. Apple warned on its system status website that the store would be taken offline beginning around midnight EDT on Tuesday morning, though the reason for the outage was unclear. Rumors suggested that several new iPad models might be announced on Tuesday morning, and that indeed turned out to be the case. Apple’s new 9.7-inch iPad wasn’t the only new product unveiled on Tuesday morning, however.

“I asked a couple of the guys. I got a no, a no head shake,” said Rondo to The Undefeated when asked why Allen wasn’t invited.
Allen and Kevin Garnett joined forces with Celtics veteran forward Paul Pierce in the summer of 2007 to form one of the greatest star trios the NBA has ever seen. With a young budding star Rondo as their point guard, Allen, Garnett and Pierce led the Celtics to their first NBA championship in 22 years with their 17th title in 2008. The four were also the key players on a Celtics team that lost in the 2010 NBA Finals to the Los Angeles Lakers.
On July 10, 2012, however, Allen shocked his Celtics teammates by agreeing to a three-year, $9.5 million contract with the rival MiamiHeat. Allen turned down a two-year, $12 million offer from the Celtics with a no-trade clause after seeking a longer and more lucrative deal and not seeing eye to eye with Rondo. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the Heat eliminated their bitter rival Celtics in the 2012 Eastern Conference finals and went on to win back-to-back NBA championships.
Allen, a retired 10-time NBA All-Star, has been estranged from Rondo, Pierce and Garnett since his departure from Boston and winning the 2013 championship with Miami.
BLAKE GRIFFIN SCORES 30 AS CLIPPERS CRUISE BY KNICKS

DeAndre Jordan added 14 points and 10 rebounds, and the Clippers blew the game open by outscoring the Knicks 34-19 in the third quarter for a 25-point lead.
The Clippers (42-29) pulled to within one game of the Utah Jazz for fourth in the Western Conference and homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs. They have 11 regular season games remaining.
The fading Knicks were led by Kristaps Porzingis’ 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Derek Rose had 18 points and Carmelo Anthony had 16. Largely using their bench, they cut the 25-point deficit to seven points in final minutes.
Griffin got off to a hot start, hitting eight of his first 10 shots. Jordan was right behind, connecting on 5 of 6 to help the Clippers shoot 55.8 per cent in the first half. Griffin had 20 points at the break.
TIM TEBOW TO BE ASSIGNED BY METS TO CLASS A COLUMBIA FIREFLIES
Tim Tebow will begin his professional baseball journey in 2017 with the New York Mets' Class A team in Columbia, South Carolina.
The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner was told Monday that he will be assigned to the Columbia Fireflies, the Mets' affiliate in the South Atlantic League.
"Sending him to a full-season club is what we hoped to be able to do," Mets general manager Sandy Alderson told Newsday. "And based on what he's done in spring training, and his whole body of work since last fall, we feel comfortable with him going to Columbia."
Tebow is hitting .200 (4-for-20) in seven games for the Mets in spring training. The Mets have been playing him in the outfield.
"I am excited about continuing the journey. I learned so much this spring working with T.C. [Terry Collins], Kevin Long, and Tom Goodwin," Tebow said in a statement. "I hear so many good things about the City of Columbia. I hear the stadium is great. I look forward to coming there to make an impact on the field and the community."

The free-agent quarterback is keeping busy while he waits for teams to call
Colin Kaepernick may not have a new team or a new contract, but that’s not stopping him from putting his money where his mouth is. With the help of Ben Stiller’s charity, The Stiller Foundation, as well as several YouTube stars, Kaepernick is raising funds to fly food and water to people in Somalia.
As Kaepernick says in the video, Turkish Airlines has granted a 60-ton cargo plane to fly to Somalia with food and water, for however long it takes to end the famine that is sweeping the country. They’ll be sending rice, vegetable cooking oil, nutritional biscuits, flour, sugar, and porridge.
Kaepernick is working directly with Love Army For Somalia, and the GoFundMe page they created specifies that Stiller’s foundation will receive and manage all donated funds, so people can be confident that every donated dollar goes to help those in need.
As of this writing, the campaign has exceeded its $1 million funding goal in 22 hours.

Re-signing Colin Kaepernick is a long shot now that the 49ers have acquired free agents Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley, general manager John Lynch confirmed Friday.
“The likelihood of that happening has gone down significantly, but we’re not going to close our mind or our options on anyone, including him,” Lynch told KNBR 680-AM.
Kaepernick has not been linked to any teams since entering free agency last week for the first time in his six-year career.
“He can still play at a high level,” an anonymous AFC general manager told Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman. “The problem is three things are happening with him.
“First, some teams genuinely believe that he can’t play. They think he’s shot. I’d put that number around 20 percent.
