“And the earth was WITHOUT FORM, and VOID… “
“I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was WITHOUT FORM, and VOID; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by His fierce anger.” (Jeremiah 4:23-26).
There were a lot more Scriptures that I could have used here, but these were the best examples. Plus some of the other Scriptures yet to be revealed will be revealed later to “strengthen the things that remain.” (Revelations 3:2).
The Greek word translated “without form” in both of these verses can be and are translated in other places as, “to lie waste. A desolation (of surface), i.e. DESERT; figuratively a worthless thing; adverbially in vain:–CONFUSION, empty place, without form, nothing, naught, thing of naught, vain, vanity, waste, WILDERNESS.”
I want you to keep in mind the words that I have in ALL caps. Remember them as we get to the end.
Now for the word “void”, it means, “to be empty. A vacuity, i.e. (superficially) an undistinguishable ruin:–emptiness, void.”
And the definition of the word “vacuity” above means,
1. Total absence of matter; emptiness.
2. An empty space; a vacuum.
3. Total lack of ideas; emptiness of mind.
4. Absence of meaningful occupation; idleness.
5. The quality or fact of being devoid of something specified.
6. Something, especially a remark that is pointless or inane.
Confusion
“For where envying and strife is, THERE IS CONFUSION [Gk: 'Instability, i.e. disorder:--commotion, confusion, tumult, MYSTERY BABYLON'] AND EVERY EVIL [Gk: '"Foul" or "flawed", i.e. (figuratively) wicked:--evil'] WORK [every evil secular kind of lyrics/music].” (James 3:16).
Remember this verse? We used this one in the last chapter.
“For God is NOT the author [Gk: 'A chief leader:--author, captain, prince'] OF CONFUSION [Mystery Babylon], but [God IS the Author] OF PEACE [Gk: 'Peace (literal or figurative); implication prosperity:--one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again, New Jerusalem'], AS [He IS] in ALL churches OF the saints. Let ALL things be done DECENTLY [Gk: 'Decorously (characterized by propriety and dignity and good taste in manners and conduct):--decently, honestly'] and IN ORDER [Gk: 'Regular arrangement, i.e. (in time) fixed succession (of rank or character), official dignity:--order'].” (1st Corinthians 14:33 & 40).
The word “confusion” in the Hebrew comes from the same word as “Babel”, as in the Tower of Babel. When God talks about that the earth (secular culture) was without form He means the same thing for the words “desert”, “wilderness”, and the word “confusion”! They all mean the same thing in God’s higher ways and thoughts!
So what happened at the Tower of Babel that we can relate to Creation and then to the music ministry, industry, and culture?
