Around the middle of this month, the Boy Genius Report had come out with an exclusive report that provided details about the new Nexus Android phone that was to be debuting in the coming months. Since that original report, BGR has come out again, adding further information to the report, thereby filling in some of the blanks about this new product line.

The initial report spoke about a handset that would offer mobile users a 1.2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM and a monster display that offered 720p high definition video resolution. Well, we know know a little more about this display screen such as the fact that it will be a Super AMOLED HD display and there is really only onecompany that manufactures these display screens. Knowing this little tidbit about the display seems to indicate that the first Ice Cream Sandwich Android phone will be manufactured by none other thenSamsung. The first device also has its own code name now, going by the name Prime.

We also have an update on the processor now with reports indicating that this will be a dual core ARM Cortex-A9 OMAP processor that will have a clock speed of 1.5HGz. Although Samsung will officially have the first handset to run on the latest flavor of Android, it will not be the only one as it is believed that Ice Cream Sandwich phones from a number of hardware vendors will launch on a variety of mobile carriers at almost the same time.
