Nike Is Celebrating Black History Month With Three Special Edition Shoes

Nike Basketball's first pack of themed signature sneakers for 2018 will be its Black History Month collection for Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and LeBron James. While the shoes have not been officially unveiled by Nike, these leaked images give a detailed look at each.

The 2018 "BHM" Nikes pictured are currently scheduled to release on Jan. 15 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The shoes vary in how explicit they are in theme, with Irving's Nike Kyrie 4 being the boldest in that regard with its all-over "Equality" treatment. That being said, each shoe features some degree of red, black, and green. These colors, borrowed from the Pan-African flag, have appeared on Nike BHM sneakers for years.

Durant’s KD 10 ($150) takes a more subtle approach, using a black-based upper with subtle green and red threading and three-tone shoelaces. Gold accents highlight the Swoosh and tongue, while a white midsole breaks up the color blocking. The day May 6, 2014 appears near the heel, which is the day Durant won his first NBA MVP honor and gave a memorable speech dedicated to his mother. Read More Here

#NBAPlayoffs : LeBron James And The Cavs Were Their Best Selves in Game 3, But Can They Keep It Up What Are Your Thoughts? (Peep The Highlight Video Here)

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers had a pep in their collective step on Saturday, and they should have. Down 2-0 heading into Game 3 of their conference finals series against the Boston Celtics, the Cavaliers' season was essentially on the line. You could tell mere minutes into the game that this would be different. Cavs guards George Hill and J.R. Smith knocked down 3-pointers created by LeBron James. Boston swingman Jaylen Brown stepped out of bounds when trying to challenge James. A deep James 3-pointer put Cleveland up 20-4 seven minutes into the game, and the Celtics never…See More
