'Barely Finished 2' is the follow-up to your last project 'Barely Finished.' What was the moment that made you both decide to create this follow-up project?

Mission: We talked about it for like a year straight. I called BrvndonP and asked him, “What are we waiting for?” He said "Nothing." I believe I went to his studio a week later to finish up something different. He played a beat and we just started writing to it. That was the beginning of making ‘Barely Finished 2.’ It just happened.

BrvndonP: Man, I think we both figured it was time. It's been 3 years since the first one dropped. haha  And because people were just asking for it!

Tell us about the meaning behind 'Barely Finished 2' and what this project means to each of you.

Mission: ‘Barely Finished 2’ means, were not close to being finished. When people look at us they may think they are looking at a finished product, but there is always more work to be done. It's about never stopping.

BrvndonP: Well, ‘Barely Finished 2’ kind of has a 2 part meaning. 1st one is that people may have counted us out, but we’re not going anywhere. They might talk about us but we're not stopping. 2nd one is that no matter what you are going through or been through, God simply isn't done with you. He has a plan for your life! He's not done with me and you.

It's been three years since you guys dropped your project, 'Barely Finished' -- What has the musical growth been for you both since that project dropped?

BrvndonP: It's been a lot of growth. We both released albums in the past 3 years. The more you do something, the better you get at it obviously. And we've gotten older, went through some things, life experiences, changes, so now the way we approach music is different.

Mission: My sound has become more mature over the last three years due to personal life situations. I thought it was a bad thing at first, but I've gained more fans making more transparent music. I've grown in my approach to music, I make music that is true to me, no longer from a place of what I think people want to hear.

What was the process like for creating 'Barely Finished 2'? Production? Songwriting?

Mission: The process was easy as always. BrvndonP and I built a very strong chemistry a long time ago. There is no ego in the way. We are confident in who we are individually, but we know we are stronger as a team. BrvndonP comes with a fire beat and we both put our heads together and come up with a fire song.

BrvndonP: Just about every song came from me & Mission being in the studio together. Our chemistry is out of this world! Nobody can say that Mission and I don't make great music together. I'll make a beat from scratch and then we'll just start vibing. We'll throw some melodies back & forth to each other then eventually something will stick. Record the melody or cadence then write to that cadence or whatever and the rest is history haha. We even made one song on Facetime, I think haha. Chemistry is everything!

Is there any track off of 'Barely Finished' that you guys think would blend in perfectly in 'Barely Finished 2'?

BrvndonP: Every song is a perfect blend I think. “Back At It” is a bop though haha. We go back and forth trading bars on each verse. How we did it was fire!

Mission: I think "Trigga" would blend perfectly. That song is like a big dare! It's saying I bet you won't do something, And we like "Bet say less. Just watch us do it."

Most people try to start an album off with the first song but if you guys could tell your fans to start off with a particular song, which one would it be and why?

Mission: In this case, it would be the first song "Back at It." The song is hype and it gets people prepared for what's in store for the album.

BrvndonP: I'd say start off with “Rooftop” just because it's at the end of the album haha.

What is the message that you guys want listeners to get from this project?

BrvndonP: To just have a good time. Find joy and peace even through what we are going through right now with the Covid-19 crisis. That God got us and He's not done.  He's Barely Finished!

Mission: Our message is simple, keep going, and don't settle for less. Once you accomplish one goal, go to the next, the work is never finished while you're on this earth.

What is the motivation behind the title 'Barely Finished'?

Mission:  It motivated us when people counted us out. We put music out and people thought it wouldn't last. Here we are, three years later about to do it again. Just when you thought we were done, here is some work.

BrvndonP: For some reason, people think when they don't see you active or flying to this place, or doing a show or whatever, they think you fell off. But in reality, we are just chilling.  It's ok to rest and relax. Take some downtime.  Don't count us out. Just know we’re not done!

Music is a big aspect of what is inspiring folks to stay positive during these tough times. How does it feel to be a part of that by releasing 'Barely Finished 2'?

BrvndonP: Yeah. Music is the only thing that has no boundaries. It can change the way you feel instantly. And that we intend to do. Lift people's hearts, give them joy, let them know there is a better future, God got us. If we put a smile on one person's face with this project, we did our job!

Mission: We are happy to provide some inspiration in this difficult time. We don't know what people need, but music is always a good way to lift the spirit. It brings me joy to know this album will be able to provide some light in these dark times.
