NBC's poor man's version of Revenge is history.
In preparation for its upfront presentation in New York Monday, the Peacock has canceled Deception, its serialized drama starring Meagan Good as a female detective who goes undercover with a wealthy family she grew up with to solve the murder of her childhood buddy. The drama was only averaging a 1.8 rating/5 share in adults 18-49 and 4.93 million viewers.
Last month, NBC announced drama renewals but Deception wasn't one of them. The five that were renewed for the fall season are Parenthood, Revolution, Grimm, Law & Order: SVU and Chicago Fire.
