Moist Duncan Hines Banana Supreme Cake Mix with walnuts and coconut delivers a tropical island flavor to your very own kitchen with this Jamaican Banana Cake.

Ingredients

Cake:
1 package Signature Banana Cake Mix
½ cup walnuts

Topping:
¾ cup brown sugar
⅓ cup butter flavored shortening
2 tbsp. milk
1 cup flaked coconut
⅓ cup walnuts

Baking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 13×9-inch pan.
  2. Combine cake mix, water, oil and eggs in large bowl.
  3. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in ½ cup walnuts by hand. Pour into prepared pan.
  4. Bake 33 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  5. Combine brown sugar, shortening, milk and coconut in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until shortening is melted. Evenly spread over warm cake.
  6. Broil 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Cool cake on wire rack for 15 minutes. Serve warm or room temperature.
