Florida upset No. 1-ranked Florida State 4-1 after a benches-clearing fracas Tuesday night in Jacksonville.

It started when FSU’s DJ Stewart ran into Florida pitcher Danny Young, who was trying to field Stewart’s slow roller up the first-base line. Florida first baseman Zack Powers confronted Stewart before umpires separated them.

However, the benches and bullpens emptied, and players — including FSU reliever and Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston — spilled onto the field. Police came onto the field to help umpires restore order, and one was photographed holding Winston and other players back.

It appeared to be nothing more than pushing and shoving, and the players returned to their benches. Stewart, Young and Powers were ejected. Florida’s Justin Shafer was later ejected in a separate incident.
