Old sisterhood.

Remember back in high school when you had your girls. You all would dress alike, share lip gloss, be on the phone all times of night on 3-way and someone would use their 3-way and then was all 6 if you on the phone! No one could fight, talk about, come between or mishandle none of you without your girls around! You felt safe, secure, empowered, motivated, confident and unstoppable! You just knew that if your girls where in on it; it would be accomplished!

Now sisterhood.

It’s a new day lady’s! Things and times have changed! Now between reality shows, social media and chasing the bag. We have forgotten what it means to have a healthy sisterhood! It’s all about who has the best bundles, materialistic items, my job is better and of course men. Putting each other down just to lift oneself up. THE CRAB MENTALITY! Some may say that the sisterhood is lost and has just became a bunch of Bitter Bettys!

New sisterhood.

I beg to differ! It doesn’t matter what nationality, where you are born, financial background, married, divorce, single or whatever the case may be. We must be around women that have the same goals as we do in life. Women to not only encourage us but also rebuke us! One must be willing to take the correction with love! Knowing that our sister loves us; she is telling me this so that I can be better so that I can be a great example for the young women behind me! So that they can see that not all women are not competition. That we are truly helpers to one another!

Think about it?

Now is the time to evaluate your sisterhood! Ask questions! Is this sisterhood bettering me or hurting me? Would I want my daughters around these group of women? What could she learn from them that I can’t teach her? If you are not able to answer these questions positively, then you may be a part of a toxic sisterhood!

Fix it!!

If you are in that type of situation, I encourage you to seek out wise counsel. To spend time alone and evaluate yourself. You attract what you are! Make the necessary changes and go forth and be the positive woman that you are! Know that there is a woman just like you are searching for a real sisterhood to grow in!
