Impact shares, "Grateful is an acknowledgment of God's goodness and grace on my life. I wanted to write a song that simply thanked God for the big things but also the little things. When I look back on my life, the incidents, the mercy's, the deliverance, Our home burning down as a child, the car wreck that involved me and my entire family, all I can think of is how Grateful to God I am, for surviving, for Living, for learning. I remember attending parties and watching people pass away in front of me. The thought is always who am I, and why don't I deserve the same fate? But God has just continued to preserve my life and Grateful is just one of many words that encompasses a multitude of the feelings I am hit with when thinking about my Lord and Savior. My sole purpose for the song is to share my passion with the audience, and share how faithful God has been to me and my family."
