How we live, interact and move in our community and neighborhoods is very important. People are watching and listening to you and you might not ever realize it. What type of influence do you have? When people see you, what do they see. Do They see a person that spreads lies about other people or flirts with another man's wife. How does that make your neighborhood a better place?

If You Are Full Love Love You Can Not Lie On People

Romans 13:9 teaches that if we are full of love, we can not lie to our brothers , sisters, neighbors or anyone! Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour (Exodus 20:16). Now this doesn't just mean don’t lie in court. We are talking about any type of lie.. And let's be real, we all have done it. If you say you haven't, you are doing it right now. At some point in our life we have all…

  • Tried to place blame somewhere other than where it belongs
  • Bent the truth
  • Told a little while lie
  • Told a half truth
  • Slandered someone

Nowadays lying is so common we are surrounded by it. It’s expected and accepted. Lying destroys communities, family's, friendships, schools and more.

There are several kinds of lies we need to guard against.

  • Slander. Making things up about people and spreading it. Or trying to destroy  someone's reputation. We see this alot now thanks to the raise of social media (Ps.101:5
  • Spreading Rumors And Gossip. Spreading news about someone, rather real or made up (Lev:19:16; Pr. 11:13)
  • Dropping suggestive hints. Planting seeds and hints in peoples mind about somebody or something
  • Overblown flattery and exaggeration. Sometimes we stretch the truth about someone or something, falsely representing him or creating a false picture of her. (Job 32:21; 1Th. 2: 4-5; Pr. 28:23

Lying Can Affect People In 3 Different Ways

  1. Lying hides the truth. If someone lies to you then of course you don't know the truth. So you are acting on a lie not the truth and that can be dangerous
  2. Lying decevies. Lying leads to misunderstanding and disappointment
  3. Lying creates a foundation for a relationship built on sinking sand. Any relationship built on lies will not stand. It destroys trust, love and confidence

If You Are Full Of Love Never Thirst or Hunger For Something That Belongs To Someone Else

Something else love does not allow is covetousness. This one is a hard one because it’s so easy to do. Covetousness is a desire or  thought that lust or craves for something that belongs to someone else. You want what they got. You want the power he had. You want the wife he has.You want something that isn't yours and you want it so bad that it eats at your heart. And this can lead to other problems and sins.

  1. A Married man can covet another woman ,or a single man can covet a married woman leading to adultery ( And if you get caught, maybe you death)
  2. A man can covet money or power that isn't his and will steal or kill to get it.

Yahweh would like for us to live comfortably and safely without the fear that we or our family would be harmed because someone wants what we have. In Romans 13:9  Yahweh is teaching us that we are not to covet what our neighbors have, It’s evil and can destroy. Note a breakdown of Exodus 20:17 teaches us to never covet your neighbors…

  • House or person possessions
  • Wife or his girlfriend (yes that counts)
  • Employees
  • His property

When you are full of love you will not covet what your neighbor has. No sir. You will focus on blessing them and build them up. And Yahweh will bless you and build you up

Romans 13:10 teaches us that when we are full of love, we will not hurt our neighbor. Now when we talk about hurt and harm, we are not not just talking about physical harm. You can also wish harm or evil on a person. But when you are full of love, you work good, not evil.

Let me be 100 percent real with you. This one was hard to write. I’m a person that struggles with trusting our government in general. When it comes to government I think more like Malcolm X then Martin Luther King. I definitely have issues with our current president.

So what is a…
