Four Levels of Davidical Arts Ministry

Circle of Influence - The Acts 1:8 Principle

Circle of Influence – The Acts 1:8 Principle

There are many types of hip-hop churches/music ministries that can exist, but I want to talk about four types. I want to inspire new ides and revelations for building unity and connecting with other artists among the Davidical Arts (or to many Holy) hip-hop ministries.

First let’s define what a church is real quick. Just what is a “church?” Strong’s Greek Dictionary, #1577, ekklesia, a calling out. (1b) Ekklesia, from ek, “out of,” and klesis, “a calling …” So the church is those whom God has CALLED OUT to be His “called out ones!” The rest of the Greek words for “church” means, “a calling out, i.e. (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both):—assembly, church.”

As for the Hebrew definition of “church” is actually in the Old Testament “congregation.” How do I know that? Because Hebrews says,

“Saying, I will declare Thy [God’s] name [in the name of Jesus] unto My brethren, in the midst of the CHURCH will I sing unto thee.” (Hebrews 2:12).

This is taking from Psalms 22:22, which says,

“I will declare Thy [God’s] name [in the name of Jesus] unto My brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.”

Did you notice that the writer of Hebrews changed the word from “congregation” to “church”?

So “congregation” in Hebrew, taken from 6950 means, “a primitive root; to convoke:—assemble (selves) (together), gather (selves) (together); assemblage (usually concretely):—assembly, company, congregation, multitude.”

Jesus also defined how many people it took to be considered a church when he said,

“Verily [TRUTHFULLY] I say unto you, Whatsoever ye [any of you] shall bind on earth [in the physical realm] shall be bound in heaven [in the spirit realm]: and whatsoever ye [any of you] shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That IF TWO of you shall AGREE [Gk: ‘to be harmonious, i.e. (figuratively) to accord (be suitable, concur) or stipulate (by compact):--agree (together, with)’] on earth [in the physical realm] as touching ANY THING that they [JUST THE TWO of them] shall ask [pray, seek, knock], it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven [in the realm of the spirit]. For where TWO OR THREE are GATHERED TOGETHER [Gk: ‘to lead together, i.e. collect or convene; specially, to entertain (hospitably):--+ accompany, assemble (selves, together), bestow, come together, gather (selves together, up, together), lead into, resort, take in’] IN MY NAME [‘I will declare Thy name (in the name {Gk: ‘authority, character, image’} of Jesus) unto My brethren, in the MIDST of the CHURCH’], there AM I [JESUS CHRIST] in the MIDST [among, between, in the middle] of them [of two or three, which make up a Church]. (Matthew 18:18-20).

I don’t know about you, but I love this passage! Because there is so much truth in this verse that I receive something EVERY time I read it. When I picked this Scripture for this section, I had no idea what God was going to do or say until just now. I had a mental idea what I was going to say but when I started typing it up and looking at the meaning of the Greek words, then checking my dictionary and thesaurus, God gave me something new that I’ve never seen before.

These verses are probably one of the most powerful BUT … but misunderstood verses in the Bible. Let me tell you why? Entertain me for a moment before I define these words.

One thing I noticed was what these verses DO NOT say is, “That if two of you shall agree as touching EVERY THING that they shall ask …”

Before we get into this verse this is probably the most misunderstood part of these verses. Many have this mentality that we ALL, meaning ALL of the Church, ALL of Christianity, EVERY church, EVERY individual member of the Body of Christ must agree on ALL things (or EVERY THING), at ALL times, and in ALL places. That is NOT what this verse is saying! At ‘ALL’!
