Award-winning gospel duo Mary Mary is sending out an alert to parents via Twitter about a game-changing law which will impact children in the California public school system come January 1, 2014.

Gov. Jerry Brown recently signed into law a controversial bill that could compromise the safety, privacy and mental health of school children statewide.
"If you live in California and your children attend public schools read & learn about 1266 transgender bathroom bill ASAP," the musical siblings tweeted.
Assembly Bill 1266, known as the "School Success and Opportunity Act," was signed into law by Brown on August 12, which gives students in public K-12 schools the right "to participate in sex-segregated programs, activities and facilities" based on their self-perception, no matter their actual birth gender.
That means, come January, girls who feel like they are boys and vice versa, can use whichever bathroom they identify with, and have also been handed over the right to join sports teams based on the same criteria.
