So many times you hear about how we must forgive everyone who has hurt us. Many times we have forgiven them and continue to love them with the Agape love love that is mandated to us by YAWEH! Yet we fail to realize that just because you forgive someone that doesn’t mean that you have to continue a relationship or friendship with them!
Forgiving others is for you and you alone! So that your conscience and heart can be pure! So that you can be healed and made whole. The majority of the time people who have hurt is to our core have yet to apologize. They have went on with their life. And they are enjoying it. While we sit around harboring and keep replaying the situation. Which causes the hurt to be deeper than what it was at first!
That hurt will cause you to be bitter, angry, defensive, mean, confused, on edge, etc. That is not a way to live on this side of heaven! We are to be joyous. You may ask how can I be joyous with this pain. You can be joyous because you are experiencing something that can help someone else overcome! Your testimony will break the chains and destroy yolks in people's lives! Look at it from that standpoint.
If you are having issues in this area of your life, I would like to recommend the following scriptures.
Ephesians 4:31-32 – Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Mark 11:25 – And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
Colossians 3:13 – Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Matthew 6:12 – From the Lord’s Prayer – “And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”
Meditate on them! Incorporate them with a fast. And let YAWEH begin to finish the work in you!
