As anticipation around the iPhone’s next generation rises, the added support for app integration means smoother transitions between social networks and phone content for users.

With Facebook being the social network we access on a daily basis to check in with friends and keep up with events, we look forward to the ways in which Facebook apps will be better utilized on the iPhone OS4.

Just Facebook

Facebook has kept up with changing mobile trends, particularly when it comes to its iPhone app. Free, the social network’s most recent app update dealt primarily with improving the sync options with your iPhone’s contact list. We’re sure to see more integration options with the latest iPhone rollout.

Focus for Facebook is a free iPhone app that gives you the good stuff—news feeds. A recent update for this iPhone app has increased the number of posts that show for your friends, moving in line with Facebook’s own push for frequent and open posting.

Another way in which we’ll likely see Facebook content able to leverage contact and calendar integration with the new iPhone is through friends’ location. With the free Top Friends iPhone app already supporting Facebook Connect, the possibilities for further connecting your mobile and social networks could be endless.

Contact sync

You can also send Facebook messages directly through your contacts list, enhancing interaction from this aspect of your phone.

FriendSync for Facebook also matches content from the network with your contacts, keeping your iPhone up to date. At $1.99, you get a few more options than the sync tool from Facebook, with additional match and image size options.

Calendar Sync

Occasions ensures that you don’t miss your Facebook friends’ birthdays or events, as it syncs with your iPhone calendar. Priced at 99 cents, this iPhone app is a full-service events management tool, with several customizable options. The support for Facebook simplifies app management, and this will likely improve as Facebook and the iPhone do.

The more popular Birthday Calendar for Facebook iPhone app syncs your birthdays, events and contacts between the social network and your iPhone.
