The Cloud Touch, AKA the Facebook phone, has gone on sale for $489. Its key feature was its tight integration with the biggest social networking site today, Facebook.

The Android phone is powered by the Android 2.2 operating system and has a Qualcomm 800Mhz MSM7227 CPU.

Its hardware features consist of an FM radio,

a 5 megapixel digital camera,

Bluetooth connectivity, WiFi and GPS.

In terms of its Facebook integration, this can be easily seen on the phone’s home screen which is where the Facebook newsfeed is presented. Additionally, mobile users can also access such functions as Facebook Chat, Walls, Places, Friends, Messages as well as notifications. Essentially, all major Facebook functions are no more then a single click away. Additionally, users can also synchronize their Facebook events to their Google Calendar.

When it comes to the name Facebook phone, the INQ Cloud Touch is not the only option available as there are other mobile phones such as the  HTC ChaCha and the HTC Salsa that try and promote themselves as Facebook Phones as well.

Both phones are now the first of their kind to have a dedicated Facebook button and in fact, the button on these devices is context-aware and will pulsate with light when there is a chance to share updates and/or content through the social website. By pressing the Facebook button, users can upload photos or music that they are listening to, share webpages and update their Facebook status. Even pictures that have been snapped on the phone can be immediately sent to Facebook by pressing a button.

The phones both run on Google Android 2.4 which is basically a slightly revised version of Android 2.3 or Gingerbread. As to how the phones differ, the ChaCha includes a physical QWERTY keyboard and has a 2.6-inch touchscreen display with 480×320 pixel resolution and a 5MP camera.

On the other hand, the HTC Slasa has a larger screen at 3.4-inches with 480×320 pixel resolution. It to has a touchscreen and a 5MP camera but it also supports face-to-face video conferencing with a front facing VGA camera.
