A Vision of the Music Industry

 

[Read Luke 1:5-25]

Do you have a vision for what the music industry could look like? Do you have a vision of what the music industry SHOULD look like? Do you imagine or dream at all? Well how about this: Do you see the music industry as some kind of impossible thing to enter or find it hard to “get in the game?”

 

 

I mean really think about these and any other questions you may have about it. I know those who did have a dream or a vision for the music industry went out there and created their own version of it. I’m not saying that it was the create image of what it should be, but they went out there and became some of the top artists that we know in the world. I’m pretty sure you can name some of you favorite game changers, whether in the church or in the world. I know I can name several.

 

 

 

But are all these visions and dream how God wants it to be? These dreams are so limited and gear to help what? Self (flesh)! That’s right. And I am pretty sure you have heard every “underground artist” say that they are coming to “save hip-hop.” I can name too many of those. Their view is extremely limited.

 

 

 

These that are “more lyrical” and “different”, as they like to call themselves, are far from making a significant impact. What God has in mind is more than just the “emcee” or for those who are “mainstream.” God created all kinds of people and through each of these people, He has given a dream and vision of what music sounds like, or should sound like TO THEM!

 

 

 

Even for a while I looked at the restoration of hip-hop meant that God was going to bring back the more creative and lyrical side of the music. But that is not God’s idea either.
