FEBRUARY 6, 2014 (Vancouver, BC, Canada) - Acclaimed Christian hip hop violinist and rapper, John "A.d.i.d.a.m." Littlejohn, is pleased to announce the release of "Blahdidam", the first single from his new, not yet titled, acoustic album.
"Blahdidam" is not your typical hip-hop ditty, which should come as no surprise considering the source. A.d.i.d.a.m., an acronym for "All Day I Dream About Music", is a musical chameleon who morphs between hip-hop, classical, jazz, and gospel, threading them together into a refreshingly unique sound.
"Extremely original..." (VH1), "Distinctive..." (The Baltimore Sun), and "A breath of fresh air..." (Music Monthly Magazine), are some of the terms used to describe the Christian violinist and vocalist.
For the last few years, A.d.i.d.a.m. has been in what he calls his "musical lab", mixing styles and coming up with some cool creations. "Blahdidam" is the first to be released.
"Blahdidam is a musical free-write that pays homage to some of my favorite old-school hip hop artists, as well as legendary violinist Nicolo Paganini," explains John "A.d.i.d.a.m." Littlejohn. Referring to Paganini, A.d.i.d.a.m.'s rapid fire lyrics are underpinned by Paganini's infamous "Caprice #5", played by the artist himself.
As a matter of fact, all of the sounds on the track are created and performed by John "Adidam" Littlejohn.
"This is by far the most personal music I've ever made, and because every sound on the album is made by myself and the violin, I've had to pour my total self into every song...When someone else writes the song, you've hired background musicians, and someone else makes the beat, it's easy to pass the blame on to your collaborators - but when it's all me, I'm left holding the can of spray-paint next to the Amtrak car. Guilty with no scapegoat," writes the violinist on his website, http://www.AdidamMusic.com, in a blog post titled "I took it personally."
