Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd has been fined $50,000 by the National Basketball Association for intentionally spilling a drink on the floor to delay a Nov. 27 game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
With no timeouts remaining and his team trailing late in the game, Kidd collided with Brooklyn reserve Tyshawn Taylor and the drink in the first-year coach's hand hit the floor, causing a delay while the mess was cleaned up.
Kidd denied any intent after the game, which Brooklyn lost, 99-94.
The Nets are off to a 4-11 start under Kidd.
